Hey Princess my name is Han, I picture us together in a Galaxy Far Far Away
I  promise you adventure to say the least
I'm not saying the courtship will be all filled with peace
I will fly you in a spaceship which is very nice
I hope you are able to withstand some strife
I have to let you know  that I have a kind of pet he is quite unique
He is a Wookie  you may in fact rather kiss him than me
If my mannerisms get under your skin
I feel I should warn you about the competition that is interested in You
I heard about a fat ugly guy named Jabba The Hut, he might even want to imprison you
Well I heard you once were interested in your brother, I am willing to overlook that fact
I can tell you that dating me is not boring to say the least
We will fight against The Empire and you will get to meet many Jedi Knights
You and I together will have to dodge fire from Storm trooper  guns
Not to mention the dictator Darth Vader wants to **** both me and you
I will let you know if this don't appeal to you or sound like to much fun
You could date a certain doctor named DR. Who and see were he and his Tardis might take you.
This is dedicated to some friends of mine who are big science fiction fans, and my daughter who likes DR. Who
I also give credit to George Lucas who created the Star Wars films and Whoever created DR. Who

Old School
By joeysguy

I remember lessons from the old school
It was a code an unwritten rule

As a male I would get to my feet
To give the elderly or a woman the seat

When taking a girl out for a day
As the guy I would always pay

Music was understood and had meaning
A lot of songs today sounds like screaming

Entertainers wore costumes or dressed in clothes
Today so much body they expose

You didn’t always have to lock doors
No fences had to protect stores

As a young kid I played outside
Strangers didn’t bother us, we didn’t have to hide

We would hangout till late hours of night
When older we hung out even till daylight

Women could sit outside late and talk
It was safe to take a late night walk

Any time was safe to go stroll in the park
Try doing that now in the dark

People now wear pants down almost to the knees
It’s ugly, pick them up please

What happened to those good old days
Time passes and kids go through a craze

I remember when Twitter was
what your heart felt like when falling in love

I remember Pinterest was when you put pushpins on
the map hanging on the wall for where you planed to travel

I remember back when the only Facebook
was Mom's photo album

I remember when Tumblr was
rolling down the hill for fun as a child

I remember when Gay used to mean you were happy
And a Joint was a bad place to be

When I Hooked Up it was usually my stereo
All these newfangled meanings are so confusing to me

Or when Bad really meant Bad
And sick was what you did all over the floor

Now they both seem to mean a good thing
Can anyone tell me what for?

And don't even get me started on Thongs
That we wore on our feet to go to the beach

Now they're used to cover up what?
The rear with a piece of string?

I remember when we did not have to worry
about being politically correct

Or even have to worry about
who we might offend back

I remember back then
we were free to speak our minds

And not have to worry about how
everything would be perceived by society as a whole

I sure do miss back then
But at least I still remember when...
Ann came to me with this wonderful idea! I'm honored that she included me in on this! Thank you my friend. If you haven't checked out her writings, do yourself the favor! You can tell what a loving heart she has through her poetry.

Don't you know the feeling?
Hating what makes you feel alive?
Don't you love the adrenaline?
It should have killed you, but you survived.
How many years have gone by since that day?
Has the thought ever crossed your mind?
Through all of my taunting and singing and loving and needing,
I've always wanted to die.

I make exchanges with the devils,
So God will forget my sins,
The list will keep on growing,
But I refuse to let Satan win.
I still have hope in this life,
But all the same I'm numb,
You don't deserve to see this,
The monster I've become.

I'm not afraid of dying,
Just of losing you,
A life without you is meaningless,
There's nothing I can do,
So I will hold your hand tightly,
Guide you into the light,
Because even in the darkness,
Your soul is burning bright.
Three notes to three very important people in my life.
The first: A wake up call.
The second: An apology.
The third: A recognition.
