High above the fluttering breeze,
a whispering voice calls out to me;
It's gentle lilt a subtle force,
which stirs my heart to stay on course.

I've often wondered where to look,
inside my mind or in a book;
For answers to the questions of,
each human's search for purest love.

In flowers' vibrant bloom of Spring,
or in the melting mountain springs;
A precious child's engaging smile,
or meeting friends to chat awhile.

As fresh and lovely winds arose,
emotions pure are soon exposed;
And with them regions of the soul,
are bound in honor's sacred goal.
The pile is ever ready
whatever type of music we dig...a ditty,
old songs, contemporary...all in a jiffy,
instruments will be playing
words, vocalizing all feelings
maybe, a song of calm
coming before, or after the storm...
.....
Notes hover above the piled 45s
look closely...find your desired jive,
let's find our favorite tunes
and take turns in  dropping coins,
record is pulled out...shortly, our song will play
hold disruptive elements at bay
because..you and i, we're gonna sway
as a full moon....rises from the bay
.....
allow our feelings to speak
while we're cheek to cheek,
as much as we want, we may croon,
after we dance, maybe we'll swoon
the world is ours...we'll be alright
"there'll be...no more lonely nights!"

(recapturing memories of the
jukebox...it's a feel good poem,
esp. when paired with Paul McCartney's
  No More Lonely Nights...)
I coloured my world today
my hands smeared in pastels
canary yellows
ripe peaches and cardinal ochres
pink from a flamingo sunrise
a passionate cerise
Splashed
an array of feisty blues
a flamboyant turquoise
a topaz tango
a twinkling periwinkle
Streaked it with
gold
contoured lilac smudges
lavender tipped edges
in custard pineapple floats
splattered emeralds, toned pistachio
fern greens with swift finger strokes
Tempered it with
muddy crusty earthy browns
rock coloured sandy mounds
reined in royal purple
the sensual blaze of a flaming sunset
the dark indigo of a gloaming sky
agate drops a few
a silver sliver of a crescent new

I coloured my world
with my eyes
my fingers, hands
my hues
just the way I wanted to
An old poem
Set the clock behind a little
Allow the hands to move slow
Kiss the deep burgundy skies
And the sunrise's golden glow
Smile at the little ones
And those who come my way
Listen to the world around
What it has to say
Pluck away worried thoughts
Instead - hum forgotten songs
Doze a little, dance a little
Before the day is gone
Anxious thoughts bear heavy burdens,
as specters rise in clouds;
Which float above the mist of light,
to avoid the angry crowds.

Just one corner of life's expectancy,
survives in sullen grief;
If only someone would show the way,
to salvation and relief.

The water's edge is frozen now,
no telling what may come;
A skater falls on an icy patch,
in the remnants of the sun.

Release again a mighty wind,
to capture all the sinners;
And if the iceberg floats away,
we'll follow just like winners.

And sitting at the pointed peak,
are cold and bitter ends;
Yet somewhere binds a silver thread,
with caution towards a friend.
We come into this world clean and clear,
nothing yet written on the slate;
Our thoughts not formed yet feelings emerge,
as we cry and coo keeping parents awake !

When we grow into toddlers questions arise,
and so often we're misunderstood;
But our family and teachers seem helpful still,
trying hard to do us some good.

We listen to all the sounds of the world,
curiosity and learning never cease;
We're lucky enough to find some answers,
yet myriads of puzzles increase.

Off to school and then to work,
relationships form and blend;
The varied senses of existence,
awaken minds with time to spend.

It's one long chain of wading through,
what the whole universe presents;
We try to choose what's right for us,
but often it's simply nonsense.

Then one day we've tumbled down,
that spiral stairway to our souls;
Dazed and confused we hold on tight,
never wanting to lose control.

Then a sign of love shines from above,
raising us up to the Milky Way;
The Lord's mercy and understanding glows,
for a new and promising day !
I wrote this awhile ago, and would like to improve on it, but the theme will remain the same...all the wisdom in the world is totally lost if our souls aren't cleansed with God's grace !
Rejecting thoughts he'd disappear forever,
a phantom glides around the mortal scene;
His earthly voyage takes him many places,
through every nook and corner's vast terrain.

Bewitched by all the different worldly wonders,
he's captivated by sheer delicacy in flight;
And subtle hints from lavender filled pastures,
are scents he's never known before tonight.

Randomly he follows all the children,
while admiring their playfulness and joy;
Soon establishing a feeling of connection,
with every little girl and little boy.

They smelled as honeysuckle would (had he ever known it),
with cheery smiles scampering off to their own homes;
So elated to find the gift of immortality,
through voices of the cherubs' mortal tone.

And soon the time did come for his surrender,
to greater forces from the sky above;
But in his viscous soul he'll still remember,
a world of beauty singing graceful songs.
Running in the eternal race of time,
searching for the roads to easier days;
Never fully knowing what lies ahead,
looking for ourselves within the haze.

Suddenly in mirrored circles do we see,
reflections shared of one another's faults;
Which bear essential words in frosted light,
excavated in spirals from secret vaults.

Forgiving not the spell that's duly cast,
on frequent plots by mystics at the center;
While roundabout lives crumble and unfold,
with endings choked into a careless banter.

This course we navigate is timeless yet,
each soul extending far beyond the sphere;
Of cherished thought indelibly replaced,
by traces of a past no longer feared.
