Lifelines
Strayed Jan 2015
A lifetime isn't forever
but the passing of time so short and insignificant
the world will never catch a glance at such beauty,
at such beauty as yours.

Until the darkening days from which you fall
from the heavenly arches
the place where we used to call home.

Let us hope for an idea to unravel ourselves
from the bindings of our own decay
This time, we won't look back,
This time, I won’t let you down
I will find a way to outlive a lifetime.

Tainted eyes
Blinded by others judgement
We can’t ever find ourselves.
Lives and novels,
Deaths and songs,
The telling of our stories to the children.
What is truth when all we are,
Are fragments of pictures trapped together?

You are my open heart
A black page to which I write
I love you.

The world falls apart
To the sound of burning,
You arrive from above
With such beauty you strike the earth
Hold me close dear,
For the ground is falling from beneath us.

Lines
Strayed Jan 2015
Staring at all the reflections in your eyes
Exploding in the darkness.
I watch the dying stars passing by
Hoping something special is
Shining back at me.

Silhouettes of giants falling
As heavy as my heart
Weighing down my conscience
A reckless choice, spins through my head

In wonder and awe,
I'll see through young eyes,
What was meant.

Dragged out a million miles
Out from where it feels most
It's a long journey back,
When the line that follows
My heart has been cut short.

Do you know where I am?

I'm holding on for dear life

And I can't see a way out.

Your storms of sorrow

Block out all hours of daylight

You stand alone

The world holding you down

I gasp for air trying to save you

But I'm losing the strength

To pull you free

My touch glances' your cheek

Yet you can't feel my love

So close to your warmth

The cold bites my finger tips

I'm losing a battle

To win you from all obscurity

We're lost in here together,

Between two continents

Sailing oceans far from home

Stars that used to guide you to safety

Now fail in the dim light.

I can't find a way

To get to you

To see this through

I've lost my faith

Drowning in your distress

Trapped within this shipwreck

Tied down to my mistakes

A worn path never re-grows it seeds

My emotions like wild flowers

Skirt along the edge in light

Gently swaying in summer breeze

I watch the clouds pass by

A moment captured, then released

I run, across green green grass

Down different roads past carvings on tress

Mend broken bridges

That led us to golden beaches and start again.

But your eyes hold me to this path

Your heart guides me through this pain

And I can only follow the trail

Of your memories for so long

And time will let me stumble on my own

To find a clearer path to travel,

To find a life without you.

Time
Strayed Nov 2014
Here, in a field of light

I shall lie alone.

And if you ever need me

If you ever lose your way

You can always find me

In this ocean of time,

Where your dreams

And realities collide.

You stand in a place

Where time never stops

The past is forever moving

And you try to remember

But the image is too vague

Washed over by the tides

Of your ever expanding sea

And I have all the memories

Reflecting in my eyes

Playing over, and over

Over, and over and they will never cease.

It's in those lines that lies the truth

A promise I can not make.

And as time continues to unfold

I will fade from your memories

Travelling short of the pace

You will leave me behind.

Strayed Nov 2014
I'm trapped with all the others
In a vast dying meadow
We'll sway together
Unable to stop ourselves
From wilting in darkness.

The chill in the air
Helps me stay calm
In the company of wolves
I feel no warmth
Only the delicate touch
Of something I've felt before.

I find comfort in
The traitors who hold my heart,
No-one else to hear my cries
Amongst the wolves
I'm all alone.

Fake words and meanings
Lies that please my feelings.
I'll trust and obey
With everything I have
Just to be accepted, just to have
Someone.

Regret
Strayed Nov 2014
I am regret,

The sentiment exposed through your bare eyes.

Raw and passionate it resonates throughout the air around us,

Expanding its ever indistinct presence gently upon your shoulders.

Where you feel,

I feel.

What you see,

I see.

And we fall into depths

Thousands of thoughts profound

Subtleties turmoil constant

Sharp movement’s progress

Further and further

Intensity grows

Like the weight of regret

We ran from forest to cliff edge

From cities through fields

To where we stood now breathless.

Your eyes caught mine, such sorrow

I saw beneath the reflections

The moonlight cast the tree’s its shadows

Drifting with the wind intertwined.

We followed the light of the east coast harbour

And sought salvation in the stars

Can it ever be ours? The choices and decisions?

Are we all but just who we are

Made from the opinions and thoughts of

Everyone who surrounds us?

Our friends are all we are worth

Worth nothing without them

And I knew you needed this

To escape from what you had built

To get away from all that you knew.

And its only pride that has got you this far alone

But it can’t stay like this forever

We all fall to our knees

In search of something greater

We all lose sight of where we’re going.

You left the world behind and I followed

In the search for who we were

We found each other’s hands in the darkest of lands

And we travelled back towards our friends

To the place where our eyes and hearts called home

Sleepless
Strayed Nov 2014
Out of sync with time falling backwards

Pieces of me fragment towards home.

Time effortlessly cascades over existence

Like water over small pebble stones,

On shallow banks of lost hope.

Shards of dignity escape me

Breaking apart my very essence.

I wait silently in sleepless grandeur

Re-living moments of memory

The sun in all its warmth and glory

Basks upon your perfection,

Yet it's nothing more than recollection

Jaded time worn frames of thought

Instinctively played by design.

I look to sepia polaroid's of dying hope

A realisation of futility

Sparks the world to collapse in on itself

My heart, a beautiful glass construct lies at centre,

Memories, emotion, time merge into one

Compressing all that remains into a single shining pearl

A light so intense it burns endlessly

In hopeless desire to find you again.
