Listen to
What your solitude says

And don't be humble with it
Often,
If feel obliged to your dream,

                          Think of its mellowness

you know how after gesso-ing the canvas
you sit back,
take the largest brush you have
add some titanium white with the darkest blue
you can find
and attack that woven weave wanting to
make almost love to it
temper it with color
not knowing what result you are after
I do.
Then you see light spots shadows clouds
trees and fields ponds appear
a few geese white flying
just with a slight addition here and there
trees seem to believe they are real
shadows grow all from one tangent knowing
how that is real
when what you want
need to paint is more surreal.
And the perspective all the sudden changes
into third worlds
reality
I do.
I do know the almost uncontrollable urges of creativity.
I know the best selling colors.
I just faint to use them.
I get all wild.

it's okay to want home
when everything is just so foreign
The infinite unsettling void
Is the point and place
Where her poetry begins -
Arises--where it is derived.

The infinite relentless void
Allows time and space
For her never-ending poetry
To be conceived;
This is how her soul
Is satisfied!

The Infinite lonely void,
Houses emotions -
With graceful words
They are interweaved,

Continually,
The void drives
Her poems to emerge -
Allowing her soul
To feel momentarily,
Somewhat,
Relieved!

Long before we came to the I do
Long before the moment we met
There were plans in the making for us two
Long before Adam and Eve drew breath

God laid out his plans for us to both be here
From meeting upon meeting through time
Paving the way so we'd meet up that day
Where I could love you for the rest of my life

Our ancestors all were kindly involved
Yours meeting yours and mine meeting mine
Where one day I'd be saved to pay the cost
Of loving you for the rest of my life

I'm sure none of them had or have a clue
Of my gratitude or how deeply I am in debt
Because without them neither I nor you
Would be here to ever have met

Larger than life
The paths we make
The voices we follow
The positions we take

Politics and religion
Impact our minds
Poetic prisons
Hearts on the line

Coming and going
Haunting like ghosts
So many issues
We dare to approach

Each of us
A means to an end
Blinding lights
Burning dim

On into tomorrow
These torches we pass
Surely these fires
Were not meant to last...

Not like weeds

They
Never smell sweet
