The octopus with
rosebud eyes.
Sparklers shooting
through its pores.
A head with an
opening like an iris.
You move each
tentacle against the
wave like it’s a harp.
You threaten to
turn into fish scales.
You stand
on your head.
So when I fly by.
You look like a sea star.
The waves try
not to open you
like an umbrella.
I sit trying
not to throw out
my philosophy
with the bath water.

Look up when you feel
The stars have stopped shining
Lost for words left
Hanging suspended
Not emitting their glow
Yearning for the light to
Cover them head to toe
I was on HP reading poems and finishing some writing when I found an artist I used to collaborate with that goes by Slate Blue.  "Stars in a sky yearning for light," inspired this poem.  Thank you for for your inspiration, and welcome back to HP. :)

placed them
in a glass bottle
and thrown them
into the sea

Not too cool
Leave a comment if
You are dismayed
The way you do it
Not well played
Someone keeps thumbs downing  all comments on some poems. It’s really annoying.
Because i am lawn furniture

And you are Antarctica

The two of us have ample rime

But not a single drop of warmth in our blood

We lived through all the bright nameless, blameless places

And the turning of the *****

The year we fell down

In an illusion of separateness

Is where we came to know

The fragile silence

Within a map of echoing glass

Pointing further out than we once thought

Everything ravaged, everything burned
when his hands squeezed so hard
you thought you would faint
and you couldn't hide the bruise
fingers caressing your chin
felt like world's sharpest knife
because you knew what they could do
for all the times he was gentle
there were fifty when he lost control
and blamed the broken furniture on you
the day that his eyes turned black before your eyes
was the very day
you knew
