With seashell propped
Against her curls.
Her mouth held
In line of concentration.
Her five year old self listened
For sound of ocean.
Last summer’s trip
Trapped inside.
Patience, wait outside the door,
Gentle look as approach,
Cautious step as walk by side,
Nudges to feel the pulse on wrist.
Gentle licks for temperature.
Knowing something not quite right.
Awaiting the need with careful thought.
Something born to and not taught.
Some creatures just know the task,
The want to cure,
Know the careful wait,
Nurse dog deep inside.
Stolen with a bit of silence.
Seized by a lack of flow:
Lack of self with numbness;
Self  is gone.
Shocked away.
The thief left with her
Leaving just a shell.
Gone before leaving.
It swoops about me;
I catch what should
be caught
Dropping a few:
I push away
What can wait.
I reach with eager hands
Life’s great blessings.
To live the mix of
Good and bad.

i would give you
all the stars,
all the planets,
just to see that smile
again.
She changed
He noticed it in her eyes
The last time he acknowledged her was
before he left
When fresh tears came out her eyes
When she dedicated her love to him
But no matter what she did she couldn't stop him
from leaving
Her eyes held sadness and love
That he had never seen in anyone before
The kind of eyes when someone betrays you
This time
Her eyes had fire
And as he stood and looked at her
Her hair and the wind
Her eyes and the sun
This time
This time he saw her worth
Her love
Her strength
But this time she was strong enough to fight
Strong enough to say no.

A red path leads to our cave
To a secluded place
Far from everything forgiven
The cave surmounts the sea

Years ago I built it from stone
So you'd place pictures there
Left behind my odor
Among your ***** hair

The cave grew into our lives
Our children were born
The cave is located in Eden
Between sea and heaven

I didn't sense that
So I resisted the cave
Therefore I destroyed our cave
Burnt your hair

You remained in the debris
To rebuild the cave
Soon it smelled of flowers
Friendly with life

Meanwhile I searched the sea
Diving through bitter saltwater
At night it was freezing
Remotely our cave was glowing

Defiantly I was yelling in the sea
Since I wanted to be a great god
Triumphing over the sea
Until I stopped breathing

So I awoke on rocks
The sea was yelling brutally
Blood in my mouth
I had lost this battle

Finally I gave up
Half dead on the ground
Looking at the cave
Our cave by the sea
The Cave by the Sea
