bless my sole
I'm in kneed
of a toe
it's all gone to waist
****
everyone nose
eye don't look
back
only a head
any more ?
Remnants of divorce hate
child
Teenage angst and running
wild

My blood glitters in the street light
My blood glitters in the street light
My blood glitters in the street light

Residents of failure blackout
nights
Idolesss in stripper
lights

My blood glitters in the street light
My blood glitters in the street light
My blood glitters in the street light

Hey dead beat father
I'd make a terrible daughter
I got my raging fists
From my mother

My blood glitters in the street light
My blood glitters in the street light
My blood glitters in the street light
Did someone scatter cornflakes
All over the ground?
Or some kind of cereal
With a crunchy sound?

When walking on the grass
There's a snap, crackle, and pop,
The dry summer's drought
Just doesn't seem to stop.

Lawns all around
Look about the same,
All turning brown
While waiting for the rain.

August 21, 1993
(An experimental piece)

Dark coffee
overdrive
Give it to me
hot
or
ice cold
with
cream
or
pure
midnight black
reality it seems
to speed by
it's so fast
I don't even have to
try
I am
stimulated
excited
trembling
brave and ready
but even
coffee
pales
to what
you do to me
when you wear that dress
Twenty five in December
I was a dying ember
Her sweetness, I resemble
Her pale skin, I don't assemble

That coffee I *****
She says she'll commit
A birthday card can say it
Hidden meaning, so you resubmit

So you took a sip of tea
And you were so surprised
A drop from my eye - tears
Guess I needed some advise

Where we we, darlin?
Is it still 2013?
Or maybe you were caught past
It's me you're with
Should haven't took fast.
Come misty-mouthed girl,
To a not so wonderful world.
Make me forget.
The investment of the other within me
has come to fill me with regret.

O take me back to before I could see all their flaws,
Before the familiarity of friendship clouded our view.
Back to when I could have believed in this so called 'love',
And could have believed in you.

Now a thick, dense obsession rises day to day
from within locked cupboards.
But not the naive, self-named kind of days once past;
The kind that clings to your personality
Like your sugar stained teeth the morning after cider;
A repulsive grit.

But I am looking for you.
Not an emissary of my misery,
But an idiosyncratic icon of
My ignorant days before I knew of
Poems, plays or 'Liberation'.
Just come and be my salvation.

My misty-mouthed girl.
She is the beginning
As well as the end
The best part of the middle
Then start over again

The sweet part of the taste
On the tip of your tongue
The wisdom of old
The giggle of young

She is the breeze
That blows in the Spring
The long distance call
That brings you close with the ring

The moment you hear
Someone say yes
She is the mystery
That hides in the guess

She is the hope
That you hold onto
The talk of the town
The brand in the new

The little crease
At the edge of the smile
She's the bees knees
The answer to why

She is all this and
She is all that
When it comes to it all
She's where it's all at
30 years ago today I married the love of my life...
We've had our ups and downs but over all it's been a wonderful ride!
