____

To wallow in and under drown,

To shape a tear, to form a frown.

Exaggerations embracing pain,

They weave a spell to summon rain.

A heart to crush, a mind to flood,

And veins that throb with rivers blood.

Confusion swims where soft truth flies,

A cauldron to mix a concoction of lies.

These fires scar, yet sear no flesh,

While times slow healing turns souls to ash.

Time will stand still
On the last oil fields,
Back to growing old.

I'm made of now
I'm melting
This is unbearable
This is unbearable
This is unbearable
I'm made of snow
I'm melting
This is unbearable
This is unbearable
This is unbearable
I can't believe I made through winter
Just to be cut short by the summer
This is unbearable
I'm made of snow
But my chest hurts
Everything hurts
This is unbearable
Idk about this one chief

The sky seems darker since then
And Jokes a little less funny.
I can only see colour
Smiling at times long since decayed.
There isn't sadness, not really.
I wish;
Just a haze, a great fog that hangs
Like leaves teasing the ground in autumn
Slowly browning and casting a shadow
Upon the cracked pavement
Long since tired of footsteps
That just chip away at me
And move on.

Soon All
Will be
Chipped
Away.

Soon All
Will be
Away.

Flashes of yesterday’s garden,
deep green under a gray sky--
I step into the canvas, moving
slowly, regretful and watchful,
with the weight of past light.

So many colored years,
some bright, some somber,
and you, the voice that ripened
youth, the accented syllables
opening the hours between
cliffs and sky, your presnce
re-appearing in soft explosions
of living, so painful to let go.

I pray for change, impermanence,
for last year’s dust to settle to
acceptance, to turn over the pages
of the past and to forgive everything.

Dreams appear to me
Like mist lifting
From the lake
I can't see too
Far ahead
I reach out
Yet there is nothing
To grasp at
How can i.retain
What I can't see
Or touch
My feet steady
On the ground
As reality hits the floor
