Please be patient,
And most kind,
My trembling hands deceive –
My quivering makes me seem –
Ever so cowardly!

Don’t believe the tremors,
They can’t possibly tell my tale.
But my pen refuses to bleed,
It’s tired of sobbing for me.

And at my door I find,
Emotion most unkind!
It detests me for -
All that I’ve dismissed,
Amassed and stored.

Yet how can I reveal
Words too near, too dear?
Into what fountain would I pour
The love I choose to ignore?

Blank white pages – my beloved.
They’ve become my only escape
From Dire prison cages!

when you feel you have no one

it's a dark and cold place
there's nothing to keep you warm
no familiar face

you're surrounded by people
but you've never felt so alone
searching for something, anything, to make you feel at home

when you've lost all your hope

what is left to believe in
no one understands
or knows that you're not breathin'

people stare
but they can't see the pain in your eyes
they don't hear the voice inside of you that constantly cries

She is a selfish girl;
She dreams selfish things.
She wants more from him;
She wants more than what he brings.

Dreaming of a change in him is a torture she bears;
Dreaming of something that cannot be theirs.

Do tell sweet boy,
Tell of all that you want;
Tell again
              and
                   again
        and
again
        until your words run out.

She will be wanting to hear you speak those
slow
        rhythmic
                      dreams.

She will be wanting to hear your lips move with
love
       captivated
                       streams.

Until your thoughts have been impressed,
shifting from their former state.
And your thoughts have been professed
outward, instead of closed to their fate.

Your new ideals on life intone
And your mouth is speaking themes.
Those thoughts are now your own,
And they are her dreams.
The joy of a rhyme, it makes me smile every time.

I Care
Do you ?
Do you feel ?
Are you aware ?
I am feeling
I am spirit
Are you listening ?
Are you listening ?
Are you here ?
Do you feel ?
Do you care ?
I was so
Filled
With sweet
Ignorance
Because
If I did not
Ignore
Then I'd
Feel
And
If I'd
Feel
I'd realize
You weren't
Here
And
If I felt
I would'
Only feel
Empty
With you
Not here.

every time we fall in love,
they call it trite,
a false fairy tale.

love is weak.
and weak ain't trending no more.

every time we speak our mind,
they tell us to shut up,
too young to have an opinion.

the youth is unreliable,
too many fresh hormones.

every time we stand up straight,
they cross us,
crucify us.

acquiescing is appropriate,
they gift certificates in frames for that.

every time we subscribe to a higher code of ethics,
they call us radical,
salivate, and spectate as we are torn asunder by lions.

love should never transcend national pride,
here it's guns, god, no homosexuals or mexicans all the time.

if i make a stand, and you make a stand,
and the dominoes begin to fall,

if i inspire a dozen, and you inspire a thousand,
the gears will grind, the tide will turn,

the lions will all be too full,
and
they surely will run out of nails,
before they've crossed every single one of us.

The throbbing headache and nausea
I can endure; I've had worse.
Right now I could cry,
such a raw hope consumed me
as I thought about you, desperate.
It was still dark for me then,
when I needed you. Now it's day.
It brings a true smirk to my face
to know you are nothing more
than a night of binge drinking:
a foolish part of my youth,
a consequence of boredom.
I could not hold your liquor,
I vomited all that bile you said to me
in the hedges outside. Don't fret,
this is not a bad memory, in fact
you might never be a memory at all.
I am well. I will drink better and
far more dangerous poisons.
I am today, you are only last night.
