You make me think of the moment when Cinderella's  only hope
was reduced to shreds;
You tasted just as hopeless,
just as irreversible,
unleashing this desire in me
to turn my back on you.

I picked Plato up
Off the side of the road
Had his thumb out
For Lord only knows

I questioned of him
Where he was going
He said with this mind
There's no way of knowing

Plato sat in the front
With the radio dial
Twisting the tunes
Mile after mile

Top 40 Pop
Is what he settled with
Like it or not
That's the mood he was in

With the windows down
His philosophy
Caught on the wind
Blew in the breeze

The day I picked Plato up
Off the side of the road
With his thumb out
For Lord only knows

Space time stretches
Each spring
Days get longer
Morning illuminates
Neighbors walk their dog in pajamas
And all rush off
With no time to spare

lay dead . do not speak nor ask for   fear.

lay quiet. do not write nor tell. there    are

new shoes by the wardrobe.     at an angle.

still. do not move nor participate in  any

way.

do not breathe, nor cry. there are    new
