We're all falling
and whether it's down or in love
it usually hurts.

Back in the old town
the mill town
the two bob for a
mixed grill town,
and suddenly
it feels like home,

But it's where you came from
that you go to when you want to
when you're falling.

i am lost, once again
in the candy floss
fantasy of his candied
nails, leaving caramel
trails as they flourish and
riposte upon the small
of my back

like a child, i want the
sickly sweet grape-flavoured
chapstick of his, glued to
the hairs of my peach-tinted
cheeks, lining the licorice
alleys of my palms

i want to remember and relish
in his flavour (that i have never
and probably will never ever
taste) - i want to store them
in display bottles in the back,
sugar crystals for my eyes
only

i want to be at the front of store
and i want to give him a
bouquet of my candy floss dreams
and wave extra long as the smell
of grape-flavoured chapstick
and caramel fades

he will never know me
as well as i do him

and he will never know me.
an unapologetic thirst poem

your eclipse
when you grow up
five, four years from now
seven, six months older
no need to wonder; never suffer

splitting head; broken bones
one more crush, three more crunch
stolen fingers; freshly sliced flesh
three wounds to bleed, more cuts to heal
—don't forget to heal.

Midnight
the night my life changed
i was wearing
a white dress
with blue and red
flowers

and you were wearing
well, actually
it doesn't
matter

the night my life changed
it was dark
and you were drunk
and somehow
it was my fault
this is not my story, but it needs to be heard.

As the raven's shadow eclipsed the sun
I trembled with doubt for my beliefs.
I wished I knew hidden truths gods are
privy to and I'll die in ignorance again.
Once more I claw beneath dignity in
search of a captain's beauty with wild
hair and wild heart and a poet's blood
to write this history upon bent knee.
Maybe we'll discover we're pieces of the
same puzzle and complete a masterpiece.

Boy sees flower
Boy waters flower
Cultivates
Cherishes
Admires
His flower
Man sees flower
Man waters flower
In a lush field
He lays there seeing
The beauty she is
Cultivated
Cherished
Admired
The flower knows
Because she blooms
Every day
For him
Happy first year anniversary to The Sernas a dear young couple

I'm
not
your
canvas;
you can't
paint over me.
My mistakes,
my life, it's whom
I want to be.
So go
_________
take your
_________
paintbrush
and your paint, too,
because I love my every
stain, and I'll keep every
color; red, green,
or blue.

By my every stain I mean my every mistake or misfortune, because I learn from each one of them.

I hope it looks somewhat like a paintbrush. I messed around with it, and the result is before your eyes.

cuts across the concrete
manic for something
