~

Drenched in the reality of my imagination’s trust
A voice in my head sings in subtle verse
Feeling fingers probe my core
As my heartbeat comes in shades of two

Whispers, constant, gathering my attention
Pointing my eyes in northeast directions
Filling my psyche with caffeinated emotions
Earlier and earlier still, waving my pen

Massaged internally by caring hands
Tickled funny bones laugh out loud
As love holds back my salted tears
Breathing this very life into my words

I write, with reckless abandon…poetry
It comes in waves, ever present, like the tides
Crashing on believing beaches
Leaving sea foam trails for me to wander

Gardens bloom when my eyes are closed
Fireflies on star dust wings play while I sleep
Beauty insists I walk when I can no longer stand
And I am not myself, nor do I want to be…for I am

Possessed by you, by everything that is…you
My thoughts are only of you, my dreams…you
My words, in this ever poetic form…you
My heart belongs to…you

I am poetically under your spell
Driven to pen, to impress, to embrace
Eternally in never ending seasons of melodic versed life
I coexist…possessed ~~~~ by you

I usually know what to do
if I can find
one good opening line~
the rest will tend to come out fine
within you can read a few fun rhymes
a general theme shapes out too
shares my unique point of view
at best it can be a test
of imaginations limitlessness
and patient persistence
but one good thing is rest assured
it's a ton of fun, the written word!!
and that dog will hunt...

We sat in front of that computer screen
arguing whether we should type in Comic Sans or Times New Roman,
ended up in laughs
ended up decoding Webdings cussing
I typed in for you and vice versa
I haven't seen you in years but I still remember when I was 9 and couldn't quite stop from giving you pencils.
An empty pen
when a verse
comes to mind
is like

you’re heading to church
with a burdened soul
And your car
won’t
start

Creep
Stay off the streets,
stay inside,
don't make contact with anything or anyone.
There's a terrible virus going around,
it climbs through your veins,
crawls into you every thought,
and drives you mad from the inside out...
This thing will render you useless,
making your legs like jelly, your mouth and tongue bloated,
your stomach twisted.
It calls for you to talk to others, even if you can't,
to spread the virus around
with words,
actions.
It craves the touch and interaction of others.
Stay off the streets,
it's coming to get you,
it will tear you apart,
and you won't ever be able to get back up again.
inspired by frank ruland's "**THIS IS AN EMERGENCY BROADCAST**" poem.
can you guess what the virus is?
eww i need to edit it....ill come back to it later....

The untamed urge
To explore the wild
Unleashes the adventurous
Heart that beats faster
Raring to go
Further and beyond
The audacious instincts
Rips across hurdles
To delve deeper
Into the unknown
Where, the treasure is
Pirates can’t challenge
The fearless sword
And face annihilation
The untamed heart
Is the bravest
To explore the wild
He's a modern day cowboy
Drinking beer in a bar with rap
He rode up in a sixty-seven mustang
Wearing jeans made by the Gap

Never says a word to no one
If he does it's only to mumble
He drinks his beer by the hours
The barkeep can only grumble

From time to time on occasion
A female patron has been known to try
To get him to open up
But they get nothing whenever they pry

The tags on his car read 1998 from Texas
It's full of everything he owns
His head is full of tumbleweeds
On the road is where he calls home

There are no rings round any of his fingers
No necklace around his tight tanned throat
He orders another Lone Star beer
He's actually from Terre Haute
