Be the
ocean wave
that
in her mind
she systematically surfs over and over throughout the day

Be the
ocean wave that
brings her to shore out of breath and
all passionately crazy

Be the
ocean wave that
sweeps her out
into depths
she has never ventured

Be the
ocean wave

that's

always

her
one of a kind

adventure

She leans over the sink
weight on her toes
to applied lipstick
in quick certain strokes,
the way a man signs
his hundredth signature
of the morning.

With lips of convictionless curvature
as the lipstick retracted like a red eel
all day she left her mark
on everything she kissed.
Even the air remarks
like intoxicating news
whispered from ear to ear.

Breathe the bright moments
in life and hold them.
Let them go gently
as you would
release a butterfly.
For they will come back with love.
Let love come to you
as a soft breeze finds you
in a quiet moment
in a sweltering afternoon.
Love will return in perfect passion.
Grasp passion with both hands
and hold onto it
until you have wrung
all the heat from it you can,
then release it
as a sigh of contentment.
Dwell in each moment
of contentment
as you would savor
the perfect moment in life.
Life, love, passion and contentment
come to us all,
but they stay with those
who appreciate them.
Be the one who appreciates them.

I sit on the patio
Alone as can be
Wishing you were here
Keeping each other company
Only miles apart
Separate us
But our connections
Are always in our hearts
My sister-in-law went back to Florida after we said our Final goodbye to her husband and my brother-in-law. It’s been an emotional weekend.

remember when we were carefree
and nothing used to worry me
the neighbourhood was my kingdom
and the front yard was my palace

we used to play pretend
worlds of magic and fantasy
we made up spells and slayed dragons
but now i’m fighting my mind’s demons

ignorance was b l i s s
when did we become like this?
