What is love?
Is it that feeling
you get when you
look into my eyes?
Or is it that
first warm day of
the season type of
feeling? What is love?
I've always wanted to
know. But now that
I've met you I
know exactly what it
is. It's that warm,
fuzzy feeling inside when
you say my name,
smile my way, touch
me ever so lightly,
hug me in the
gentlest way, say those
words to cheer me
up, when you tell
a joke, when you
blush everytime you're around
me, talk about me
to other people, when
you see my face
in a picture. I
know what love is
now. Thanks for helping
me define it.

HOOPS11
In moments like these you need a shoulder to cry on,
but nobody's around so you try to sleep on it till dawn.

In moments like these you just don't care what happens to you,
people around you act like they already knew.

In moments like these depression is eating you away,
you don't see colour in the world all you see is black and grey.

In moments like these you need someone to talk to,
but you cant bring yourself to say it so you try to break through.

In moments like these you think your not good enough,
you put yourself down because you know it's too tough.

In moments like these you just don't want to live,
because there is no other way because they won't forgive.

In moments like these you need determination and strength,
because you don't know if you will hold up till the end.

In moments like these you stare at the sky,
you think what it would be like,so this is my goodbye.
The word 'you' is referring to me,sometimes i like to refer to myself in second person.

A First Kiss

A first kiss tells you everything you didn't know about a person.
It let's them know what you really feel about the them without words that you're each afraid to say.
It's a vulnerability, a brief opening of your heart, a little glimpse into your mind.
It's like saying "I have words to express how I feel, but this sums it up better".
It's new.
It's opportunity.
It's spring.
It's sunshine.
It's living.

.

One of these days
I will write you a poem
Perfectly stated
I hope you will find

Wonderful verses
of love never ending
Tender affections
from this pen of mine

Melting your heart
with the words I have written
Making you smile
with each line you read

Rhyming emotions
of springtime and flowers
Sending the message
you’re all that I need

Phrases of beauty
so filled with devotion
Promised forever
in poetic ways

Something so special
you’ll never forget me
I will write that poem...

~

her tears flow easily
on the shoreline,
with each swell
their bitter rise;
she weeps between
the crashing waves,
carried...
with the ripping tide,
sobbing...
with each heaving crest.
’tis on these rocks
her heart was torn,
her thirsty soul
here cries unquenched,
clinging to
this coast forlorn...
this churning,
salty brine,
where nothing
stills the beating,
not the bleeding
of her heart,
though her blood
has all run dry;
nor the cracked rib
’neath her breast,
though its piercing shards
erase her cries.

i lie here weeping
’tween these lines,
her nightly tears
and sleepless sighs,
white-capped sheets
her stormy bed,
churning shoulders,
tossing head;
for hope seems lost
when hope is best
an ocean’s grave,
a watery rest.
life's minutes counted
’til they’re gone
will only cease
their restless throes
when heaven’s gates
o'ercome her foes.

~

post script.

*her smile... ’tis a thin veil o'er a razor's edge
that conceals a mother’s bleeding heart

the month of his birth
and the month of his departure...
despite the twenty-five years between,
follow in such close succession.
like a Holy Week all her own,
each step, each word, each task,
each i-remember-where-i-was-
when-i-heard-the-news,
relived in painful remembrance.
Lent... Holy Week... the Easter season...
with all its rich and meaningful traditions,
now includes our breaking bread and
drinking wine in our heartfelt
communion of his memory and
helps us to better understand
the heart of our loving Father above

Just Melz
If you accidentally
             fall out of love,
Do you just dive
                back in head first?
           Feet first??
                     Eyes closed???
        Cannon ball????
             Or
Do you walk away
       Cause you can't swim
And you're scared to death
                   of *drowning?????
I don't know the answer and I'm not sure what I'm even asking..... Enjoy.
