It was

an old
coal fire

that

she fell
in

the flames
untamed

licked her
skin

going insane
with pain

neglected again

mummy
wasn't there

didn't care...

skin sizzling
off

only five
years old

the neighbour
that helped

had a

heart of
pure gold

to hold

her gently
in his arms

as he pulled
her from her
hell

from inside

the burning
flames
where she
fell

little girl with
a burnt arm

died

but she
survived

scars all over
her body

LITERALLY

from head
to toe

but mum

you should
know...

you're

beautiful

to me

i have stopped
screaming
into empty rooms
because
it is
the same as
screaming
into full rooms
of people who
have said they were listening

and so you get out of bed,
you take a shower,

you wash the face that too many tears have dried upon,
you cleanse the the body that too many hands have touched

heartbroken again, but you will rise

you’re too used to it to cry, it’s a demise

you shave your legs, this time for you
,
you comb through your tangled locks, reminding you too much of your tangled heart
,
you paint your cracked and unpolished nails, hoping that they’ll shine just like they used to, also reminding you too much of your cracked and unpolished heart.

heartbroken again, but you will rise
you’re too used to it to cry, it’s a demise

you clean your room, still hoping that he’ll see it again soon

you draw your blinds and wait until sunrise

*heartbroken again, but you will rise

you’re too used to it to cry, it’s a demise

You should know
I am quite aware
Of ALL your longing stares
And it makes me really uneasy.

You should know
To avert your gaze
Stay away from my maze
I don't want you if you're easy.

Little eyes
Crystal and perfect
Little ears
Sculpted, flawless
Little lips
Soft and lovely
And a little smile
With little teeth
To show your precious little face

But behind the eyes
Under the ears
And beyond your smile
Inside your little lungs
You’re sick

It pains me too look at you
Your little eyes
Little ears
Little smile
Because all I can see
Is a little box
Inside a little hole
And dozens of little flowers

But inside your little eyes
I see the smallest but most beautiful
Ray of hope
And I say to myself
“My little brother
So strong but so weak
Is going to make it”

And the box is empty
And the hole was never dug
And the flowers never picked

And I could see you again
And I didn’t worry
Because I saw hope
All the way down in your little lungs
Which won’t hold out forever
But for now you are my brother
I wrote this. My friend's little brother passed in the hospital last night. He was only three years old. It's all just so sad.

Maybe it’s just us

Maybe we’re not playing the game right

But every time we use the ouija board

It spells out

“everything is going to be ok”

And the spirits smile

And the weather aint that bad

These demons

These spirits

This darkness

I don’t know man

Lately our resilience

Seems to overshadow

The Shadows

See,

When it gets dark

We teach ourselves echo vision

And use our beating hearts for flashlights

Or, or

We reincarnate with night goggles

Perfect lighting

For messages in bottle rockets to the moon

When it gets dark

We dream under Zodiacal light

Writing sonnets

On supernovas

And shooting stars

On less inspired days

We wait for evil to combust…

Spontaneously

And light a torch

When it gets dark

When they toss us in black vines

And black flames

We’ll shoot out smoke signals

To our soul mates

When it gets dark

We turn on the **** lights

your
hands are soft and
you
smell like sweat and
your
touch feels like pin ****** and satellite signals.
your
body is raw and
you
run your mouth and
you
taste like broken promises and copper.
