The sun burns my skin
And I'm fine with that
I want my veins to bleed dry
Don't let me in.

Unfolding the layers
I've settled into
And shedding skin
That doesn't belong to me
Anymore.
Jumped off a roof.
Back up: betrayal.
Dinner with the enemy,
and flashbacks to, well,
the Old Days I suppose.
Beauty and the Beast
Pervert and Pretty.
What have I missed, boy?
I woke up in all gray
Lived through the ugly day
And I found God, somewhere.
But don't mind my Spanish
and please ignore the self-loathing
until I find my cloud of white light.
This poem was made from an excerpt of one short story I recently published. Check out the full story (with images) here: https://medium.com/@briannarduffin/wrongful-death-of-self-d34c50c8ffe4

the clouds weep with me
It's healing
But it leaves a mark
A scar that reminds me
How weak I've become

my one wish is
to find someone
who sees the world
as beautiful as i do
with their mouth
preaching poetic beauty
as i have once done
to all the boys
i have loved

Q
if love was recognized
for it's true, transcendental nature

if love was felt
in its deep, radiant vibrations

if love was seen
as its pure true self

if love was manifested
with all of ones righteous intentions

.

then we could say we were enlightened
no longer of this scattered, dysfunctional frequency
but of a higher vibration
grounded to the truth

s.q.

.
"If love was real, this
blue light would have two shadows
colliding to one "
