Tired Eyes

Tired eyes awaken and be at the ready...
For today has come with all of yesterday's debris.
Tired eyes you try but can't successfully conceal.
What the beating heart is dying to reveal.

Tired eyes glaze like you can't take anymore.
Filled to the brim; these sullen windows to my core.
Tired eyes give tears like you do effortlessly.
You seem so lifeless save for the drops you carry.

Tired eyes you say so much but yet the words are unspoken.
I know you quietly wish for a miracle to happen.
Tired eyes you reach but your arms are broken.
I know you scream out silently; all that's been forgotten.

Tired eyes why are you wide open but still you do not see...
See the sun rising, revealing all your wants splendidly.
Tired eyes I know you are but only waiting.
For the picturesque view of your heart's secret painting.

Tired eyes it's time and it's the end of a work day.
Don't anticipate tomorrow's load; just rest as I lay.
Tired eyes I am aware of sweet solace that you truly seek.
Tired eyes rest now so that tomorrow you might speak...

I've got a Bobble Head Buddha
That nods on the dash
Some guy named Gideon
Whose Bible rides in the back

Rainbow covered Rosary beads
Hang from my mirror with ease
I've got all the bases covered
As pretty as you please

Have my cassette of Hindu chants
Where I hum along
Shaved my head for Hare Krishna
In case I get it wrong

Holy water in my reservoir
So when my windshield wipers wipe
I have that added protection
Never knowing what might

A Yarmulke from a Bar Mitzvah
In the seat next to me
With a case of Watchtower in the floorboard
I pass out for free

No cigarettes or coffee
Like a good Latter Day Saint
In case Jesus comes back a third time
Who's to say that he ain't

With all my bases covered
I feel pretty safe
Guess I can now crank the engine
And start out my day
I'm a firm believer in Jesus Christ (who's only come once but will return) and his saving grace.
I just watch some people these days bounce around from whatever religion makes them feel good and this little ditty came to mind. Each of us have a hole in our hearts only the true God can fill. If your not satisfied with where your at, that right there is the problem. Don't rely on man to tell you who God is...let God do that.

Traveler
Breathe the world in, then let it out
As we contemplate what life is really about
Perhaps it’s a mark upon the world we’re meant to leave
Or some final truth we’re supposed to perceive

Then again maybe we allow ourselves
To be deceived
By the views of science and these religions
We feel compelled to believe
Yet what is it, as sentient beings that we really need?

I observed two lovers blemished by hard life and circumstance
Yet they held tight to true romance
The radiance of their love for each other shone
With the brilliance and beauty of the Kosmos

Two parts come together and on into infinity as a greater whole
Yet I am but a fragment broken and adrift
Out of phase and in no position to repair the rift
So allow me to impart to you these words
Find love before the meaning becomes a blur...

Poetic T
Tears of red fell upon the ground
The clouds white, pure as snow,
A sky once blue had faded to black
But still the rain fell,
For if it fell upon the flesh
Pain,
Decay,
Infestation,
It corrupted what was touched
Life was death,
What once was pure
Now darkness filled that hole,
Plants once green
Now tainted white
To touch a leaf once soft,
Twisted,
Defiled,
Infected,
Now less life, to touch but dust
A full tree of white now but decayed
Blown in the wind turned white to black,
It fell from the heavens
Once pure, the giver of life
But now the red fell from above
Clouds so pure,
But they bleed the life down below,
What once gave
Now takes all that was life,
Now only darkness and decay
Is above as well as below.
