I watched you drive off through rain stained windows
too angry to stop you
too shocked to move

Since you left nothing's been the same
stars we once saw
they've all gone dim
I haven't seen the sun in weeks
the skies permanently gray

I saw your sock in my laundry pile
I washed it
couldn't bare to throw it away

The seasons keep changing
from warm brown to cold black
and I still get your mail sometimes
but not your calls
I run my fingers against your plastic encased name on the envelopes
and hope silently you don't stay gone
MR. DADDY SOFT SOFT

Always her fascination with me
shaving.

This her early morning ritual
observing each action

as if it were holy.

I hide my face in foam.

“Santa Claus! Santa Claus!”
she chants

winces with delight as the razor
(she gulps)

goes over my bump without
(gasp)slicing it off.

The shaving uncovers the me she knows.

“Soft…soft. . .Mr. Daddy Soft Soft!”
she gurgles in a lather of laughter.

“Me now…now me!” she pleads with me.

I take the brush…coat her reflection with foam.
I shave her…with the tip of my little finger.

Her reflection sniggers & she sniggers too.

Later, in the early evening
she appears

bearded in fresh  cream.

She shaves herself with a lollipop stick.
“Me... Daddy now...see!”

I cha cha cha her on the tips of my toes
as she clings to my fingertips

the living room dances around us

One delighted half shaved little girl.

One delighted soft soft Mr. Daddy.

In a contemporary nature
There is a merchant
Absolute dealer himself
Who with conviction preaches
Even affections are on sale

Then how his solitude
Is so hard to escape?
To diminish desolation
Remember buying and selling
Isn't always the same

Creepstar
I can't tell
While in this shell
If I reside
In the depths of hell

For all the people I reach
I feel alone
Lost and scared
No home to call my own

Where am I
In the tether of existence
I'd like to think
You may blink and miss this
I'm the devil who won't let go
the bull dog
with a locked jaw...
The clown shoes with a crease and long journey's bow

I'm the fighter with cauliflower ear
Beat up a thousand times
*******,
I'm still hear!

I'm not going anywhere.
Even if I croak,
Kick the ******* bucket
and die like a joke.

All that **** I wrote down is for you
You can read it, eat it, and **** it out your backside.
I put it down for you to read anyway.
You don't have to like it, believe it, or swallow it as real.
I know you saw it once.
Thanks for the warm feels!
His eyes were not the reminder of a once well known friend they were the reminder that I only got three hours of sleep last night and there's a test on something I couldn't wrap my brain around because I was too busy searching how to tie a noose on a screen to bright for my tired eyes. I never knew he'd show up unexpectedly at dinner and I could almost see my mothers nose crinkle in disgust either from the stench of my lack of motivation or simply the smell of death. He had this way of holding himself. Hands shaking like a ticking time bomb or way to ready to jump to the next thing to ease the situation.
To ease the situation.
Ease the situation.
The smile carved as big as the jokers planted on a pale face and sunken eyes.
he had bags under his eyes.
bags under his eyes
Under his eyes.
Grimacing under growing bruises and bones that creaked with every movement because he is like an old house. Fun to look at and imagine what it was like in its glory days but spiderwebs and dust seem to be a better turn off than the word no.
No one told them that depression is a battle ground that theyd have to pick up their long lost child from.

Once Upon I, the warrior skeletal
the eternal darkness
descended
with cracked laughter echoing
serendipity exploding
and unfolding  erase(s)
the expanse of nightfall,
those connected before
redemption,
rustic austerity
peace
for she
dreaming forlorn
liberated
by the sword
sine qua non
I am curious to see what 5 or ten or 100 Hello Poets can create. I will start this poem with one word. If you would like to contribute to it, write a comment, in parenthesis write ( one word )  to add to this community poem. I will then edit the poem and add your word to it. Only one word per comment , but feel free to comment as much as you would like. Prepositions words like (a, as, the, or, by ...etc) do not count as a word in adding to this poem, If I would like to add "free", and it would not work in the poem , "as free"- would count as one word.
