pluie d'été
your lips
used to write poetry
against my skin

but now
i can't feel your breath
on the curve of my neck
and i have nothing
to read

I sat, eager to hear what you had to say.
I watched, the tears welling up in your eyes.
I wept, as you let everyone see you.

You are the most beautiful chameleon I have ever met.
And I know the significance of your sobs.
You let everyone in.

When I told you I envied your courage,
that wasn't a lie.
Because what you did today was so brave.

So thank you.
Thank you for letting us in.

It was an honor.
For the beautiful girl who may not know how much I love her.

Mystery

There's something with your flashing smile
And I just can't figure it out

Some sadness was hiding between your eyes
But I just can't seem to catch them all

Those bulging cheekbones, glowing bright
They contain some kind of mystery
They blur all the lines

What were you thinking?
How were you yesterday?

Why was I even asking?
It's something I can't put into words
But I just kept moving forward
Hoping someday you'll tell me
Your deepest thoughts and happiness.

Your mystery, it annoys me
It blocks my vision, I can't see

But I love them with all my heart
It's even fine with me if you'll stay
Just another mystery in my mind
Some misery that won't end

Broken heart misery,
a tape that's on replay,
starts off beautiful,
ends in a symphony of tears.

I look for you in everyone
Nay, I see you in everything

I see you in every empty seat
I see you in blur every time I blink
And even when I close my eyes,
I still see you

You're the ghost inside my head
And no matter how fast I run,
I can't save myself
