A single sprout
Bent and swayed
By a gentle west wind
The last of its kind

No hope or worry
If it will spread
Or perish
Right where it sits

Simple contentment
In existence
A precious gift
For only a select few
Hadrian Veska Mar 2019
Look to those guardian statues
Towering at the edge of all things

Young one I ask you
What guardians do you know
That face that which they guard
Instead of the threats that face them?

I tell you the truth
Those guardians are not our own
No, they guard what lies beyond

From us
Hadrian Veska May 2017
On that distant world
Stand towering sculpted figures
Great guardians statues
Hewn of unbreakable stone

The nights there are illuminated
By a dark satellite sun
Bathing the night
In a stygian radiance

When the light of that dark star
Rests upon those ancient statues
A hidden path is revealed
To that sickly necropolis

The dread crypts of Amylgmynon
Hadrian Veska May 2016
The great sphinx
Sitting in the sand
Ever watchful
Of the skies above

Built in an era
Long before the pyramids
To guard ancient secrets
Hidden in the desert

Solemnly does it lay
Patiently waiting
For the stars to align
And the age of leo to arrive

When that age begins
Will the guardian sphinx
Reveal to us at last
All the lost knowledge

That we so wisely
Sealed away for ourselves
And with that knowledge
Will come our salvation

Or our destruction
Hadrian Veska Jan 2020
Sun and Moon guide the way
Urban stars lead us astray
From the path rode in the day
And the one we walk at night

I know not much but I know true
When I was young and when I grew
Into the man my Father knew
Since before I was born

That no path I make is worth a ****
Can lead to any promised land
Our path is never what we planned
For that I thank the Lord

If I followed the paths I planned to make
A circle around a lonesome lake
For no one else than my own sake
I would not have met my wife

I would not have grown and not have loved
No peace to me come from above
No guiding spirit, a snow white dove
To rest upon my shoulders

To light the path ahead

Now I have no plans, I simply do
What I know is right to do
I stumble yes, that is true
But I've learned to stumble forward

And stumbling is not so bad
When there's someone to pick you up
Hadrian Veska Nov 2018
Radiance flows
From past all boundaries
Somewhere beyond
The guardian statutes
That mark the end of what is known

A faint vision engulfs me
As I pass those obelisks
A searing crown
On the head of a woman
Fills my open mind

She is familiar to me
But only in the distant memories
Of long past lives
That I have yet to live
Hadrian Veska Dec 2017
Fallen in and twisted
distant eras and future space
Collide and break apart
Infinite ends and beginnings
Fold in on each other
Creating a grand kaleidoscope
A final flash of all things
The last display of an artful creation
Before the darkness returns
From the distant gulfs
In which it has waited
Since before the birth of the stars
Hadrian Veska May 2021
Things cannot make you happy
They can only make you excited
And excitement always fades
Hadrian Veska Nov 2016
We are afriad.
Now, more than ever.
Turn off your tv,
Your phone,
Your computer.
Just listen,
Watch.

And you will understand why.
He
Hadrian Veska Aug 2016
He
I've seen him
The one who sits outside creation
Whether he is God or not
I could not say

For he was far stranger
Than I though God might be
If I stood next to him
He would have towered over me

The surface of his skin
Seemed metallic and ever shifting
And upon his head
Was a strange helmet

Upon closer observation
The helmet was made of bone
Perhaps the skull
Of some long extinct creature

The being continued his work
On some infernal machine
Whose purpose and design
Were beyond my comprehension

I do not know for how long I watched
But eventually I saw his head
Turn in my direction
As if he saw me

He stood motionless for a time
And then walked closer
His strange helmet churned
And began to shift

He stood not but a meter before me
Then bent to my level
An insurmountable terror
Overcame me and I froze

Just then his helmet began to open
Peeling back in a far too organic manner
As it opened an all together new terror
Washed the previous one away

For staring back at me
Was both the nothingness and infinity
Of all space and time

And then I woke up
Hadrian Veska Apr 2016
I found myself in a strange and desolate place
A dull mist filled the fields to my left and right
As my eyes adjusted, I saw an otherworldly sight
Stretched as far as the eye could see
Were countless unmarked graves

Curious I observed the graves
And noticed that every so often
A name would be carved into one of them
Yet no matter how much I strained my eyes
I could not make out any of the names

For a time i continued to watch
The slow methodical and almost ritualistic
Carving of the obscured names in the cold stone
And as I did, I noticed a figure
Standing alone among the graves

The shrouded being began to move towards me
And though it did, I dare not move
It continued its approach
Until it stood right before me
Dwarfing me in both size and spirit

The figure's very aura demanded a somber reverence
It looked as though it was Death itself
Yet somehow I knew it was far more ancient
Before words could leave my dry mouth
The entity began to speak

"Ea Krynium Mar"
Why do you from outside
Walk among the nameless tombs
that fill this forgotten place?"
For this I had no answer

"Do you not know where you are?
You are in the place of unending silence
This is where those unborn come to rest
Those whose names were never uttered
And those whose eyes never witnessed the light."

As he spoke a thousand more names
Were etched into the blank tombstones
And their pace did not lessen
This place only grew more burdened

And ever more silent.
Hadrian Veska Apr 2016
As I stood upon the hill
Mist grew over the rocks

Jagged they stretched
Out of the ground

And sitting upon one of them
I noticed a peculiar figure

Drapped in a tattered cloak
It sat solemnly in the fog

I drew closer and introduced myself
But I recieved no reply

Then after a time the being moved
Bringing it's legs to the ground

As it did I jumped back
For it stood several heads above me

Though its presence encompassed me
It so moved forward to where I stood

As the figure stood before
I noticed time begin to slow

The being's cloak shifted in the wind
Revealed strange bones underneath

Time drew still and as it did
The cloaked figure spoke

"Raalm Nerakka Sitar.
What stands before you
Is insurmountable, and what lies behind You is unattainable. Yet as with your fathers before you, and those who would seek the gates, I will see you to the end."

With these words, the strange being
Bent down to my level

Staring into me
With his hollow eyes

And then he vanished
Along with the fog

Heaven Awaits
Those of pure heart
And yet few remain
Whose hearts can withstand
Such a mighty pressure
Hadrian Veska Dec 2022
Drip of dew and moss on stone
The mist laden forest overgrown
Cobbled road and dirt worn path
Undisturbed since time has lapsed
Through day and night it faintly glows
Dimly, softly ever it is so
A power gently woven
A magic so sweet
The deep green grass
Beneath ones feet
To still and to calm until at last one might
Emerge from the garden and into the light
Hadrian Veska Feb 2018
Shattered oars
Float on the foamy waves
Gently bobbing
With the lull of the sea

A broken boat
Lies dashed against the rocks
Great crags and cliffs
Of a Misty island

But footprints lead away
From the wooden wreck
Deep into the heart
Of that forgotten place
Hadrian Veska Aug 2018
Yirin O'Yule
On the back of his mule
Rode to the cliff-side city
But naught did he know
That where he did go
Had long since slid to the sea
With the family he'd not again see
Hadrian Veska Apr 2018
The labyrinths that lie here below
Are insurmountable
Turn back now
If you wish to return
To the places whence you came

And if by some miracle you return
You will not be the same
As when you so foolishly entered
The crypts here below
Of that unnameable catastrophe
Hadrian Veska Jan 2018
A hollow bell resonates
Over cliffs and ridges
Slick with an oily rain

Few remain to hear it
And those that do
Are wary of its toll

Nonetheless they answer
The call from that tower
Overlooking the sea

Though they know it not to be their doom
They suspect it in their hearts
Hadrian Veska Feb 2021
Lay still beneath the swaying leaves
The gentle green and awning eves
Late evening sun to slip away
From purple gold to silver grey
Stay with me here as twilight falls
And shadows grow along the walls
Ivy covered and of ancient stone
Long centuries has this garden grown
It will be here still when we awake
When sleep has left and dawn does break
Hadrian Veska Oct 2016
Hope for something yet unknown
When day is done and light has flown
When sun streaks last
Across an amber sky
And the moon hangs low
Over mountains high

The sterile oceans
Our last goodbye
Hadrian Veska Jun 2021
To You
The seven stars
The bright cluster
Among the long dark
Do you not know that hope came down?
Faith from the lofty heavens?
And you know it thus returned
Which is why we wait now being sure
Certain of the thing our hope is in
Have you not considered that beyond
Far away and removed from here
Among the boiling lights of night
One not dissimilar to yourself
Might see that hope descend to them as well
And latch onto it as you yourself have?
For indeed there is but one Way
One eternal Truth among the cosmos
One perfect Life to which we all strive
Only made possible by this Hope

The Hope of all peoples

Hot Mint Tea
It’s 4:53
Sunrise this morning
Is taking its time
A light dusting of snow
I do not yet know
What this day will bring
But I’m feeling fine
Hadrian Veska May 2016
Setting sun across a fading red sky
We lay together on a lush hill
With nothing around for miles
As the sun goes down
We use each other for warmth
There's something about you
Something I absolutely adore

Your touch
Your eyes
Your smile

No, it's none of these
Yet it's all of them
Not a simple trait
But the sum of all of them
In the person that is you

And I would have it no other way

Step one:
Agree that science must be objective

Step two:
Disagree with and dismiss any objective evidence contrary to your beliefs or philosophy
Hadrian Veska Sep 2019
A martyr desecrated
For the study of sickness
Scholarly hubris
Awakened the hunters
Out of their tombs
Broken and fractured
They hunt again
Heading the call
The ice is melting
In far northern lands
What was once sealed
Is freed at long last
The savior is dead
Mummified and embalmed
His service meaningless
Against human pride
The savior is dead
Long live the night
Hadrian Veska Mar 2020
If you think you have full mastery
Over your mind and body

Try apologizing
To one who has great pride
Who has wronged you
And whom you have wronged
In a far lesser way

Struggle with it
Knowing what is right
And yet knowing your body and mind
Wish not to obey you

Know then that you, yourself
Are neither mind or body
But you are spirit
As your Father before you
Hadrian Veska Apr 2016
Leaves fall
Flutter in the air
Sun shines bright
Causing a glare

Mountains stretch
Above the clouds
Birds chip
And call aloud

Just take it in
For what it's all worth
The scent of the forest
The Hum of the earth

The soft warm breeze
dancing about
The lush green trees
The tender sprout

The world is alive
And always will be
When I feel alone
This comforts me

Three of one and one of three
Silent humming set me free
Across the horizon beyond the skies
Twisting words that watch with eyes

Humble moon hanging low
Illuminate and cast its glow
Sunken earth and tangling root
Choking out a tender shoot

Broken rock and cursed refrain
Far off voice calling my name
Gravel road leading to shore
Devil cry and hunt no more

The mellow scent of pine
Beams of moonlight through the trees
Quiet and still
Something enigmatic hangs on the air
The night lies unknown
And what may be has not yet come
Hadrian Veska Jan 2018
It was certainly strange when we found them
No chemistry or reasoning prove its cause
But from first sight every natural inclination vanished
Two species separated by an endless void
Were inextricably connected at their very core
No wars or struggles among them
But a deep subconscious understanding
And a desire to benefit the other
This cosmic bond led us to reach new heights
To come to the very edge of all understanding
But as with all things, when something grows too bold
To confident in its endevours
A force comes in to put it back in its place
And so they came
From where or when unknown
Some say from beyond the very universe we itself
And they dismantled all our acheivments
World after world
Millennia of records and knowledge
Gone in an instant to darkness
The connection between them
Broken, shattered like glass
And the companions hunted to extinction
One by one the stars went out
As the scourge crossed creation
Coming at last to our home
The very place of our birth
A blue green marble on the edge of space
The birth place and resting place of a curious species
Who reached out too far into the darkness
But who were not forgotten
And in long distant futures
Might one day return
With the help on an ancient ally
Hadrian Veska Nov 2017
A golden ichor poured down
From archways and aqueducts
Sourcing itself
From somewhere far off

Beyond the cobalt walls

It appeared as necessary
The lifeblood of a marvelous city
Frozen in time long ago
Beneath a undying sun

Where none yet remain
Hadrian Veska Aug 2017
I had betrayed them all and joined her.
Ensnared by her spell, I fell to darkness.
Though, the spell was not wholly potent.
In fact, it has no effect on me at all.

But I pretended as though it did.
The truth is I was tired,
Tired of being the thankless hero.
Ready to become my ideal's enemy;

If only for a moment's peace.
Hadrian Veska Nov 2019
I fashioned it
From wood and clay
With gold and rubies
Did I inlay
That image crude
So I could pray
To something I could see

The tool I made
Did serve me well
And in return
I knelt and fell
Down to my knees
At sounded bell
That I might repay

Now in my age
I fashion again
A deeper image
Than that of men
Inlaid with gold
As it was back then
An image of myself

Though now no longer mute
My will is absolute
Hadrian Veska Apr 2018
I cannot love
I don’t know how
I do not live
In the here and now

I’m off somewhere
Distant and deep
Hiding myself
My secrets to keep

And none may know
Not even I
Why I keep
Telling such lies

Lies to myself
And lies to you
When I say
I don’t love you
Hadrian Veska May 2021
Water spilled to streams of yore
Flowing down from the mountain wastes
Before the forests bore their first fruit
Or the stars illuminated their first night
From the deepening darkness
Sprang forth living water

The water flowed and pooled
Stretching out and gathering
From the four corners of the earth
To meet together in the distant east
A place now lost beyond our world
Wherein a great garden was planted

And where our ancestors were born
By the living water and the earth
Made of simple clay, of mud and dust
Yet imbued with a great power
A unity with their creator
That they may walk with Him

Side by side
water earth garden God peace eden paradise
Hadrian Veska Mar 2019
If in your dreams
I may intrude
To sit and watch
To think and brood

Pondering the pieces
I place together
Of your idle wonder
In coming weather

Your forlorn wishes
Your paths not tread
The love and wisdom
In your heart and head

And if I may
Indeed I might
I'll sail those seas
And from them take flight

To stand with you
Before that storm
The one I left
The heavens for
Hadrian Veska Nov 2018
It's a slow burn
It'll just take time
Starting from nothing
Trying to find our rhyme

And rhythm
Where two make one
Your soaring highs
And my steady drum

We'll get there
If we fan the flame
Love only grows
You can't love a name

So listen close
Just feel the beat
As the fire grows
Turn up the heat

And Ignite
Fan the flame
Burning bright
See it from space
Dance/ Electronic lyrics
Hadrian Veska Nov 2018
Ever closer
Does it approach
Prophesied by many
But by all forgotten
Events set in motion
Aeons ago
The salvation of some
And the doom of many
Let it be said in the end
That grace was given
And that justice prevailed
Over malice so deep
It thought itself righteous
Hadrian Veska Apr 2016
I know nothing
But it doesn't know me
I'm trapped in a room
Waiting to be set free

There are no windows
Yet also no walls
I'd walk beyond it
But then I'd fall

There's but one door
And it's behind me
Yet when I turn around
There's nothing to see

I'm trapped in here
With no bars or chain
But if I stay long enough
There might be some gain
Hadrian Veska Mar 2019
I'll be here again with you
Soon and forever
For the Earth is ours
And always will be
Indeed we will walk
Together once more
Beneath a new sun
That will not set or fade
Hadrian Veska Apr 2018
Born away on winged flight
From the city of fallen light
A child, an heir the hope of man
To guard him safe until there can
At last again, the kingdom come
To those in darkness, cold and numb
And to the world a beacon make
Resurgent man his throne to take
Hadrian Veska May 2016
We heard the words
But knew not what to say
So we returned
To the work of the day

Strange folk had come
From unknown place
To share with us
And with our race

They spoke with ease
Yet moved not their tounge
They spoke for hours
Until the lights hung,

To this day I can't recall
The greater of things they said
Nor their ancient stories
Which now have left my head

The only thing I do remember
Is a repeated phrase they spoke,

"Then, then when the sky is red,
And shadows bloom
Inside your head,
When the heavens break
And all is dead,
Then you will know
What we have said."
Hadrian Veska Jan 2017
Ill words drip like molasses,
And then hang in the air.
Swirling slowly,
Never wholly,
Said with any care.
Hadrian Veska Oct 2018
Dreams upon dreams
Layer them
Until the beginning
And the end
Are indiscernible
There within
Will you breifly know
And faintly taste
Immortality
A corrupting ichor
You will not soon forget
Hadrian Veska Dec 2017
Whoever is nearest longest
Is the person I fall in love with.
Though my thoughts
And visions are complex,
I can't shake this instinct.
A simple childish trust;
An imprint
From another wandering soul,
Who happened to pass my way.
Hadrian Veska Mar 2019
We are not one but we are many
Aspects and facets
Entwined to create a perceived whole
But our perception is limited
And we are unaware
That we are not alone
Even within our own minds
Other such beings are permitted
If only for a time to speak into our ears
A voice we think our own
To speak the greatest of lies
We have even been told
That true freedom is choice
When in reality where is only once choice
We are truly free to make
To align our will with God's
Or to choose not to
Any other perceived choice
Comes from a voice that is not your own
Listen carefully and you can tell
You know they are there
A multitude in your head
Those impure spirits
That hope to lead us astray
With the illusion of freedom
The freedom to bind oneself
To the depths in hell
Hadrian Veska Feb 2022
It was an instant
A brief moment that lasted
An endless amount of time
I saw above and below
Within and without
Beyond veil after veil
Rung after rung
In myself and far beyond
I learned there was no difference
I saw into the great depths
Of oceans not discovered
I saw into the habitation
Of those that dwell in the stars
All creation waits
In eternal anticipation
For me, for us to arise
And meet the one who made us
To share in love and joy
In play and in being
To walk, to climb the mountain
Until all who are far off
Share in eternal light
Hadrian Veska Mar 2019
Hear them gently now
Float upon unbroken waves
The inclinations
Of emotion not yet realized
They exist here
Outside of time
Sent forward or back
By unknown means
In the hopes
They they may find
One separated
By more than simple space
Hadrian Veska Apr 2018
Worse to be a shadow
Than something wholly new
Holding on to old regrets
Events you can never change

To live you have to die
Not once but every day
In order to become
The truest version of yourself

Only those who abide in darkness
Can't bear to see themselves
Fragile and exposed
In the dawning light of day
Hadrian Veska Aug 2016
I watched him walk backwards
With each step he aged a decade
Until he was nothing
But weathered bones and dust

I knew not who he was
Or what he accomplished in life
I knew only his fate
And the time he had before it
