DRAGON

It's an aging, raging super nova fireball of fury.
There's a breeding, feeding, big nasty dragon inside of me.
It's flowing, growing, lickety-split on the double.
I'm requesting, professing, that you give it the boot or obtain the trouble.
You're pushing, smushing, carelessly handling the buttons to keep it cool.
I warned you.
You ******* fool.

Easy

It's easy to write words about you,
there is no deliberation over syntax,
these letters get
sequential run;
natural as blue sky
holding new sun.
In the drawer beside my bed
there lies a graveyard
where scribbles cut to ribbons
rot in literary purgatory.

Discontinued timelines
suspended in the could-have-been,
you know, that awkward space between the realms of possibilities?
Civilisations falling into disrepair,
starved of vision,
endless streams of thought tricking into discontinuation.

It's all in the drawer beside my bed,
beside my head,
that knitted them together
and in the same breath, tore them apart.
For when you start writing but never finish.

Deep in the earth my love forgot
Buried where flowers do not grow
Friends or passerby knowing not
The corpse of love does not show

Where weeds cover and rain beset
Whiter than clouds painted in the moon
All life and eternity to regret
The loss of young love gone too soon

This dead not buried in the ground
Like in the empty sky
But in my voice soft and loud
And the every blink of my eye

somehow
I was drawn to her
or was she drawn to me?
a spark ignited
and we made some
intense poetry

wrote some that would
blot out the moon
some took away the sun

some were deathly serious
and others
just for fun

The form was fine,
the rhymes were good

and everything was nice
but one day
tuat mighty flame
just flickered and it died

and things got ugly,
awkward,
and more than a little dark
and everything just
went to ****
without that glorious spark

and pretty soon,
you had to go
you left me with no choice
but sit and try to find the words
now that you took my voice

I told her that I'd be
all hers
but,
I guess she had enough
and something that was
beautiful
*was quickly turned
to *****

Smoked out,
I'm choked out
I'm feeling kinda dumb
my eyes look like they're gonna bleed
my face feels kinda numb

I hope nobody spoils
all this happiness I've found
it might just **** up everything
to have someone around

listening to the radio
just tryin' to let my mind flow
I feel this sense of dread
And I'm paralyzed
'til I realize
it's all just in my head

day-dreams
in color
as hours fly on past
the only thing I don't like
is that it don't really last

but that's okay, I figured out
exactly what to do
I'll just pack another bowl
about every hour or two
Never the popcorn
for a story untold,
little victories alone
that never unfold.

Never any applause
for a story unheard,
all the joys of day
and yet not a word.

Never saccharine sweet
the story unshared,
so chatter aloud
and let no one be spared.

Reads as of today

I wrote of Orion
And silly sleigh rides
Wrote about hometowns
And passionate nights

****** damnable wars
And narcissistic politicians
Wrote sorrowful elegies
Extolled the human condition

Offered odes to loved ones
And critiqued the powerful
Celebrated the splendor of nature
And children most wonderful

Honked loud about jazz
And hot improvisation
Poked fun at the MoMA
Held deep blue introspection

We got many more reads
Than actual likes
I’m growing concerned
That I have more dislikes

But here is one more
Silly trite poem
I hope you like it
You can read it at home
