 Jun 2014 emptiness
Mike Hauser
To me there is no better night
Than the dimming of the lights
And tuning into American Idol on my T.V.

Tonight's no different to tell the truth
As they give another loser the boot
When I noticed something strange in how Ryan Seacrest blinked

Mr. Pretty Boy was blinking in Morris code
Right underneath America's nose
He was passing off top governmental secrets

So his front has all along been a lie
Ryan Seacrest, international spy
Don't know why before I didn't see this

He uses that cute little baby face
And day old beard to hide his disgrace
As he obviously communicates with the underworld

From one side of the globe to another
Talking in code with his Rooski brothers
Why this just gets my patriotic ******* in a curl

Just when you think you know someone
They go and pull this traitor stunt
I suppose now your going to tell me Mom doesn't bake her own apple pies

Then I find out it's some imposter named Mrs. Smith
I'm not sure I can take much more of this
Who next will I catch living a lie

Then I see Ryan run off stage
With the strangest of looks on his face
Seems all along there was stardust in his eyes

Funny it wasn't Morris code
Who's embarrassed now...me I suppose
Ryan Seacrest international spy?
Uh...nevermind

Time scars all with the wounds they were said to heal
Sure the marks not visible, but the pain is ever so real
Staring at the hands that mend my fate
Circadian rythum thrown off is it too early or too late?
Half or a quater of my past an electrical impulse away
Memories faded by time but the pain is here to stay
The smell of your clothes, a nostalgic aroma
Time heals all wounds as these scars get older

LonelyLullaby
I'm aching
I'm desperate
I'm screaming
To give you
Everything you want
Everything you need
But i can't do that
When you simply
Reject me
So I keep trying
I keep loving
I pour out
Pour in
Pour
Pour pour
Till there's nothing left
And all I have
Is an empty bottle
I espied the wisps,
whisper with their lips,
quivering their golden hips,
orbiting blooming tulips,
to provoke me, with their quips.
Taking out an old crock,
stalking behind a rock,
I trailed those glowing beetles,
whiffing the fragrance of myrtles,
skipped across the backyard,
to catch the fireflies, flitting haphazard,
Humming and buzzing, I could hear,
with luminous insects tickling my ear.
Losing my faith, I turned back home
followed by an unknown kith, adventuresome;
He sat on my finger, glimmering with radiance
wish he did linger, while I stood
hypnotised, under nature’s brilliance.

We are not the ******* first summer rain, anymore. When heated water vapor condenses and unstable airs break through, we are now as dangerous as thunderstorms, cracking and flashing and desperately wanting to burn the whole sky down.

I hate my reflection
The face I see
I can't stand to look
There's just a monster
Staring back at me

I made a mistake. We are nothing but drizzles.

i think of you too often. it has become rare to think of something else. i used to think of last summer before i met you. i used to think about long days on beaches i have never heard of before the very day i jumped into waves of sapphire. i used to think about the smell of sun lotion and jasmines and peppermint icecream, which still is my favourite flavour. we bought icecream last summer, mary and i, and dug our naked feet too deep in the melting sand and drank gin straight from the bottle and laughed our hearts out in the embracing summer air. i sighed a hopeful sigh as i let my body kiss the ground and i wished for never-ending summer days with mary at the mooring. we danced around the fire whilst holding each other's hands; we danced and danced and danced until our minds were all sore and then we watched the awaken sea turtles and fell asleep on the dock, hand in hand.

i used to think of mary before i met you, but ever since you bumped into my life, thinking of you has been blocking all other thoughts; thinking of you has been the baddest habit of mine. you did never ever leave.
