Why is it you?
When my mind can't unwind,
When I'm at my darkest
At my brightest.
Why is it you?
When my body sleeps
But my brain is awake,
Dreaming up memories.
Why is it you?
Whom I've not seen in years,
Left behind in a moment,
Haunting me.

Why is it you
That I so desperately want
Beside me?

In storms
she is your anchor
In blindness
she is your sight
In sadness
she is your laughter
In darkness
she is your light
In weakness
she is your strength
In nightmares
she is your dream
In kindness
she is your weakness
At night time
she hears your screams
In low times
she is the mountain
In dry times
she is the stream
At all times
she is the rock
Never pretending to be
anything else
than what she appears
to be

I wish you would take my hand
and walk away with me.
Conversations may float
from autumn branches
or we may find
that silence is sweeter.
There are wildflowers somewhere

   -waiting-
to wave in the wind.

There is a rock
high on the hill
where distant drums
still pray.

I want to take you there.
an old one
All I'm asking for
Is for you to talk to me
Don't toss me aside
I'm not one of your old toys

I've accepted it:
The fact that we'll never be
I am now begging
That our friendship doesn't rot

It's all I have left
It's all we have between us
No more and no less
It hurts me to say these things

tell me what you need
and when I cannot find
one of your necessities
I'll reach inside myself
search around corners and under beds
and offer what I've found
you're free to take any part of me
I've meant to declutter anyway
I just hope I have what you're looking for
