Jacob dear you are still here
Living in my heart
With every beat, the memory
Of you held in my arms

The day we met although short lived
It's you I still adore
But who am I to question why
God needed you more

As surly as I live we'll meet again
On the other side
But until then I will keep you in
Both my heart and mind
Kim Johanna Baker's poem Jacob touched me so much I was moved to write a poem...

I was a poet, a healer and a woman
once
a dreamable woman
who got behind his eyes

I learned about flying
too

I still dream about flying

so ****** pragmatic these days

Afraid to write

Afraid to fly

He said my wings
really stoked the fire
once

And now I remember
why I am afraid to fly
a conversation of sorts
How deep is her love?
How high is the sky?

By Lady R.F. (C) 2017
If I could reach up
And extend my arms

Stretch out my fingers
Squeeze my eyes shut and just touch
The very tip of a star

Stardust would sprinkle into my hair
Twinkling, like morning frost

I would float up
Weightless
A feather headed back to the wing of the bird who left it behind

I would soar above the world
Candy floss clouds caught in my shoelaces

The moon would look on
Watch me wrap myself in a midnight blanket
And gaze back down to earth from the heavens

If I could just touch that star
An entire world of magic would course through my fingertips

But it would be nothing
Nothing
Compared to how I feel when I'm with you

you can lean
on the tennis court fence
and tell me
about your day, your week,
your life.

i can sit
on the tennis court floor
smoking bits
taking petty photos
of the sky,
as you say how bad it is
to be alive.

we'll find
comfort in loneliness
and when we
finally feel okay,
i'll snap
a new photo
of our sky.
A cool, gentle breeze;
the countryside is shrouded
in sweet morning dew

New
you are new hope
for an old soul
you set me on fire
and cool my bones
you've woken me up
from quiet, still sleep
you made my heart sing
where before it would weep
there's a beauty in you
that I didn't see
it snuck in like snow
and set my mind free
there's nothing careful in us
or timid, or mild,
instead there is flame
unbroken, run wild
I am not afraid
I will not back down
because I am me
when you are around
