Word challenge using the words Rattletrap
                     fleabag, tatterdemalion, jalopy, squalid,
dilapidated, down at the heel. Vintage words

It was kind of dilapidated
But it still ran fine
It wasn’t a total rattletrap
No matter what people said.

I would like to have a new car
But I’m down at the heels right now
having lost my job last month.
I live in an aged fleabag flat
In a squalid neighborhood
Until I get back on my feet.

Everyone calls me a tatterdemalion
But I pay my own way.
And when my old jalopy died
A piece of me died too.

I  loved that little ‘0-two Jetta;
I’d get in and it would  go
The best art of it all was this-
It always brought me home again.

I couldn’t face the breaker’s yard
And see her all torn down for parts.
I donated her to charity
To help pay for someone’s brand new heart.

I loved that '02 Jetta. It only had 85,000 mi on it.  but the computer basket
developed a glitch no one here could fix and the nearest VDub dealer is 100 mi away. I got talked into a Camry which I hate and won't  drive. Hubby is now my chauffeur.

“Bombs away!”

You called.

They exploded with love.

Then suddenly,

The world was left empty.

Until the next wave.
warm soft hugs
like gold hued ships
bathed in the setting sun

arms restrict
like drowning dark ships
the panic has just begun
a poem on claustrophobia and physical touch
That night I felt her naked body beneath my hands.
That night I felt her lips against mine. The passion and the pain of making love. Her blue eyes and dark brown hair.
Those rosy red lips and that smile. Her enjoying my wild side and me taking in her madness. Before we even touched I was dressed as Rao and her as Christine from The Phantom of the Opera.
I woke up the next morning with a freshly bitten ear and my shins bruised also I walked with a limp. Then the rumors that slept with a girl.
I don't know what to say what is dream and what is reality. I guess it was real. The rumors made it from my college to my religious small town. I only told one person that secret and whoever that was told the whole school. I don't remember ever leaving my bed that night but somehow that dream was a reality.

Protecting you & keeping you safe is my job so if that means wearing a mask then I'll do whatever it takes without one moment of hesitation

Confusion reigns supreme,
Enveloping you
In a swirling distorted fog
Of mixed emotions and
Contradictory messages,
Con - mislead, false, unreal,
Fusion - tie up in knots,
Befuddle,
Unsure what’s happening,
What’s up, what’s down,
Wanting,
Needing,
To understand,
To know,
To learn,
How to break out
Of this endless cycle of
Perplexity,
Asking for help,
Receiving none,
You’re on your own,
Drowning in this murky abysmal soup
Of contorted pain and
Incomprehension
In life
he was full of death .
In death
he was full of life

Nobody
In that endless night
we heed; cold and bitterness
unto the morning light
Sightless vision binds our eyes
madness disembarks into our lives
A cold dark prison earned
is the bittersweet sentence served
A life stolen and a life lived in hush
tis golden silence upon that burning bush

Trembling utterances on the grave
it's the human heart that we poets save
In this final night and in that coming day
let all that you dream become what may
for once the fires lit, the dream is here to stay.

Some are Born to sweet delight
Some are Born to Endless Night"
