with visions of false happiness.

For them,
I would swim across all the oceans.
I would give an ***** out of my own body.
I would take a bullet to my skin.

For me,
They would smirk in passing.
They would laugh pitifully at my jokes.
They would listen to my stories half-heartedly.

At the end of the day,
I would be just another chapter in their book
and they would move on to someone better.

I cannot find solace anywhere anymore.

I do not find comfort in
the pages of the novels on my shelves.

I have lost interest in
the shows and movies streamed onto my television.

I can never find
the right song that fits the things I am feeling.

Everything that once gave me a reason to live has lost its appeal.

I live for only you now.

The voices
in my head
aren't getting
any quieter.
