i hear your car pull into the driveway
and I rush to close my eyes.

i pull the covers to my shoulders
and pretend that i am sleeping

this has become my ritual

i can hear your key turn in the lock and my heart presses against my ribcage.
i have been waiting for this

you quietly enter our bedroom
the smell of snow follows you in.

silence
(just for a moment.)
then
the rustle of layers being shed

i feel the bed shift as you climb in next to me

slowly
you reach for me
lightly touching my side

in this dark room
i am beaming

'hey'

it's all you say,
but in it i can hear the high note of every love song.

with a smile firmly in place
i slowly open my eyes

only to find myself alone

in a room miles away
This is the first poem I've shared in years, so any critique is more than welcome.

She was waiting
to be kissed,
she was the bridesmaid.

Never measure love with virginity,
true love
is accepting flaws.

the clouds
are dancing
beside the moonlight,

i can smell
the fragrance
of the sea breeze,

the wind blows
in sweetest rhythm
of how our hearts
beat when we're together,

the leaves sway
like we hold
each other's hands,

lying in the sand,
i realized,
we never grow up,
we're always
too young
to fall in love

eat me alive

in the darkest
coldest
part of the night

the moon
will not
haunt you

nor follow
your footsteps
in the midst
of our
love's demise

i can smell
your flesh
from afar

eat me alive

i'd rather
be dead
than being
alone

Trying to light a candle
through the darkest of nights,
writing a love poem
in the middle of the fight.

The moon is drawn closer
to every foolish tears,
and the sound of silence
is now gone in a blink.

It is hard to hold you
forever in my arms,
but in every failure,
are the things we learned.

I might not forget you,
even the dawn is sunset again,
in the pale moonlit night,
you are my favorite kind of pain.

Have you ever walked into a room and felt  you've been there before?

Your body feels electric as you stand inside the door

You know this room and know this space

But, you've not ever seen this place...so

You take one step forward

And then you step back

And you step forward again

You all know you've done it

You're not quite sure why

But your'e doing the Deja Vu Waltz

Have you ever met a person who seemed so **** familiar

You know all of their interests, for you both are so **** similar

But, you know you've never met him

And the lights are going so dim....so,

You take one step forward

And then you step back

And you step forward again

You all know you've done it

You're not quite sure why

But your'e doing the Deja Vu Waltz

Have you ever heard some music that you know you know the words to

But the problem that you have is that the song is something brand new

It just hangs around your brainwaves

But your mind just won't behave...so,

You take one step forward

And then you step back

And you step forward again

You all know you've done it

You're not quite sure why

But your'e doing the Deja Vu Waltz

I know you've watched a movie where you know you know the ending

But the movie has just come out and it starts your mind to bending

You're sure your'e going crazy

But the movie still seems hazy, so...

You take one step forward

And then you step back

And you step forward again

You all know you've done it

You're not quite sure why

But your'e doing the Deja Vu Waltz
Letting the water rush around my ankles,
I whisper your name to the seafoam.
I roll my tongue around each syllable,
as if enunciation alone could draw
fate lines between us.

The water recedes,
and takes with it my breath.
I see now that the ocean is what taught you
to leave me gasping for air.
Hello again friends, it seems my voice has found its way back to me. I wonder what I will learn from it this time around.

As always, I'm at a loss for a title.

You are the forty 7 sided polygon that I do not presume to understand. You exist in dimensions above my own.
You exist on planes beneath.
I beg

Beg to be a fly
Just to crawl upon you

the Sistene chapel of you

To kiss my antenna
Against your skin
And test the scent  of your solitude

Strange
How the fates have spun
Eleven threads that did not cross
But once

Our fibers touched-
And I lowly spun

When once our threads did touch

Unhitched feel me now like a blast furnace     Total ****-up   Remeber? the one who was pallbearer & genderless
Neo natal I'm at the rim pitch black coughing up laughter finding **** in the face of it
Cog in the computer
Backward  bell curve
Left skewed
Average
Low
So low
Nobody in particular really
just mashing buttons hoping it's a payoff
Not god just a phantom limb living for the hell of it

Hysterical.

They hate us,
when they also talk
about destinies.
People are fond
of breaking hearts
then fixing it.

We will build castle
out of the bricks
they threw at us.
Love is beyond
any beautiful scenery
in the world.

Never let go
of the things
for the unknown.
They have hatred,
we have love;
we are love.

Paper boat on the river,
sailing, hoping it could take
his dreams into the horizons.

Paper boat of a kid, smile —
in every breath of innocence;
no rules, no lies, no fears.

And it was gone, drowned —
lost in heartaches and tears;
living is accepting failures.

Then he made another one,
hoping it could sail once again —
but it is not the same anymore.

I drop my spear
To better hold the pen
The compass spins
Without rest
A sun born in my chest

I am mad or I am a young god
I wonder at the hands
At the eyes of blue
This temple
Is my favorite toy
Enthralled by sinew
Muscle twitches
Beneath tanned skin
Discharging nerves send
A chill up the spine

Brother and Son
I have stood in senate
And no man stood with me
I have spent mornings in bed
Watching light dance
On a naked back

My mind
Is like unto an ocean
Or a lone galaxy
Nameless ships
Lonely drift
Upon boundless waves
Dead planets and
Blue comets spin
Without aim
It likes to play
In disarray
Ancient in scope

Do you think you have plumbed its depths
When even I have never touched its borders?
Without effort
It is a tangle of paradoxes
A cluster of non sequiturs
Yet somehow they web
I am mad or I am a young god
