I wish I could tell you how wonderful you look in that dress
Or maybe compliment your heartfelt laugh
Perhaps I could mention your ability to make everyone feel loved
There is so much to say about your wonders
But I know your response will be the same, "Thank you"

Well how could it be any different?
I don't expect you to push me against the wall and kiss me
Although that would be great
And yet, I want you to know these aren't just compliments
They are words of truth, of love

I wish things could all be simple in this complicated world
But I am a girl
Who likes a girl, Who may or may not feel the same way
But how should I know?
We are good friends. And I want more. But I can't just ask.

Because life is not simple and I am afraid.

But seriously, how can you tell if a girl likes you or if she is just being friendly?

Dark n Beautiful
Every house has a story:
Every piece of land has a past and also a story to tell
When l was a little girl:
I would dig deep into the earth looking
For proof to these stories: a perfumed bottle, a piece of rag,
You name it: I know there was a story.

I remember our first home,
After, moving out of my grandparents’ home
An old run down board house, with the open ceiling
Two bedrooms, no build in bathroom,
Somehow, my parents made it our home
For my siblings and I:

Something about the Iron bedhead caught my attention
The color of black, a little rusty, on the rims
But, l likes that old head board.
My parent got rid of the old head board
Just to keep up with modern times
I wish I could have kept that thing
I know where it is buried: in the gully
Those childhood memories of me
Digging into the earth for artifacts

Every piece of land is unique;
As well as every person is different..
Even the poet within me, seeks,
Not for treasures, but for answers,
I recently made some enquires about
Old man town man piece of land
Everybody wants it, but nobody can get it

Lots of stories can be told about this land
But not enough about the man character
They is lot of things I wish I done different

As a young adult, but I guess,
it wasn’t meant to be:
Today I am calm, yesteryears I was
That, poem that never was publishes.

Alstroemeria, Southern-rooted watcher of the skies,
Angel tongues of Peru, with your ******-blushed annunciation
Or Incan-hued sacrificial fire.
So much like the moon tongues of all rivers in first frost or first harvest.

Like first love, first death is the truest form,
And blooms in scorn of all its many-mirrored rivers to come.

Walter W Hoelbling
once you let your poems
fly freely
out into the world
anything can happen to them

and it does
poems free world
I feel I am getting older
Full of aches and pains
My body keeps on telling me
I will never be young again.

I used to be a drinker
I admit I drank too much
But now I'm reaching seventy
I hate the blooming stuff.

Now I am on the Doc spot
Every day I attend the gym
Although I feel I'm losing weight
I will never be nice and slim.

My wife and I walk our dog
We take him out each day
He chews and sniffs at everything
I won't tell you what I say.

Youth they say is a flame that burns
But I feel my flames gone out
Now if you were to see me
Well I'm nothing to shout about.

I wonder how my wife does cope
I'm beginning to repeat my words
And when I try to tell her things
She says I sound absurd.

So I guess I'll have to face the fact
There's no more climbing hills
For me its the downward spiral
So I'll carry on taking the pills.
