"I am not the person I see reflecting
Back at me
In the mirror of their eyes,"
I whisper to myself...

I am not how they see me.

I am only
How I see myself.
Don't let anyone's opinion, or potential opinion of you, change you.
Be you fully
No matter the consequences.

Sometimes you get so good at forgiving
That boundaries start to blur
Until they disappear completely.

Eventually you lose sight
Of what's allowable.

Eventually you forgive so easily
That it softens us to even the most
Vicious attacks.

And red flag.. after red flag..
After red flag
We can't even see them
They **** by so fast
Cause somewhere along the way
We forgot that red means stop.

Red means pause
And think.

I'm sure you think to yourself,
How can giving be bad?

It's only bad because we have given
So much of ourselves that all
That is left is bones.

We died to save you
But you would never have
Bled a drop for us
.
.
.
It's all about balance. We can give with boundaries:)

Running from crazy
That's my excuse!
Self medication
Don't call it abuse...
But I've been without
Somewhere trapped within
Pour me a double
Before crazy does me in...

What is behind an eye
A place where a fear resides
A love that stretches
Both far and wide

Far more than a place
To simply mask a lie
There's so many different eyes
So many bright and brilliant shining eyes

Does eye color somehow matter
Can blue eyes feel sadness sadder
The odds favor your eyes to be brown
Which are some of the nicest folks around

Or perhaps these descriptions are stereotypes
Because green-eyed people just love to fight
And eyes with freakish hues of silvers and blues
Can capture your heart and run you through

Yet from a common unfounded point of view
My eyes are hazel and a bit red too
In the perfect shadow of a wicked moon
They can appear a shade of handsome blue

But let me not lead your reading eyes astray
Hazel stands for slimy green goo turning grey
And the stereotype that fits us like any made up lie
That an iris could ever affect the person behind the eyes

I'm not broken
Just hard to understand
And I often see my words unspoken
And feel the bitterness will never end

So, even if I wonder
How far my legs will stand
I still know
That I'm not broken
Just hard to understand

When there is no sun
and no moon around
The darkness reflects
Night shines the brightest

Flashlights take us places
to make our way through spaces
the time moves slower
and dark clouds hover

blinding black surround
and echoes of voices of hounds
the heart freezes
we sleep till late

Keep our eyes closed
to protect from the truth
Hands on every surface
finding the path out

Hoping to come across
morning rays coming through glasses
Urging to wake from
this terrible nightmare

If I attempted to expose
My many dysfunctions
With words that simply rhymed
My heart would surely ache
As I committed to relate
The faults in my weary mind
What I'm really trying to say
Between these lines is where I fade
And so I survive another day!

May we all find enjoyment in another day!!!

You
Sometimes you wonder
Who loves you,
I tell you,
But you still don't seem
To have a clue......
