I once asked my Mom,
"Do you think I'm
going to Heaven?"
and she replied,
"If anyone is
then it would be
you."
Call it
Mother's intuition,
but she's never
wrong.

Kids

No matter where they are,
No matter big or small,
No matter dependent or independent,
No matter caring or otherwise,

They are always -

Loved
Cherished
Cared
Remembered
Missed
By Parents!

Chirping kids so rare,
Untrained kids rarer,

Young parents these days
See perfection
in everything,

A child blabbering
not appreciated,

Crawling before walking
not expected,

Trophy babies
Designer babies
Show stopper babies
Everywhere...

I hardly find merit
not influenced by
parents anxiety...

I hardly find a parent
not tensed at exams
of a child..

I worry for future
of kids for they are
not groomed to suffer..

Tensions are taken by parents..
Kids advised to take a chill pill..!

I worry because in life
kids have to grow someday,

All tensions of practical
life kids have to deal someday..

Till when the parents
be umbrella to problems
of a child...

Why not let them
live there life?
By just being
there to share..
To advice
To care
But not cover

By being there
With them to
Develop
&
to grow a
BETTER INDIVIDUAL..!!

Had been to my daughter's school today for PTM... parents worry so much for upcoming events... That to in Grade 1....
I told some of them... Teach kids to be strong.. not excellent.. any excellence these days is parents excellence... Wait till kids perform themselves....!!

Teach kids

Sharing
Not
Offering

Endurance
Not
Obstinance

Maintaining
Not
Throwing

Securing
Not
Spreading

Joining
Not
Breaking

Propitiating
Not
Petulance

Love
Not
Anger

Sympathy
Not
Partisanship

Rich by heart
Not
By currency

Teach kids humanity,
Human
Better human
And
Better future
All will be made
by itself.

Change will come,
When we change
When we change our habits,
Kids will learn from it.

A BETTER WORLD WILL
BE CRAFTED
...!!!

When I am SITTING doing NOTHING
I thinks of my son who had left me void,

When I am WALKING alone in street
I remember my son and time well spent,

When I am COOKING I feel guilty of leaving my son alone at times,

My son who was special
My son who was dependent on me,
My son who left me early.

My son,
For some doctors he was classic example VEGETABLE,
For others he was point of research,
They told her so point blank on my face,
He will not live beyond 10 or 11,
he passed at 11&1/2...!

My son, whose passing away,
I could not grieve..
Coz,
he was a LIBERATED SOUL..
I held back my tears
To CELEBRATE his LIFE,
I held back my tears to
HAIL his NEW LIFE.
At times when I am
DOING NOTHING
I spend my time
RETROSPECTING....!!!

When people see me DOING NOTHING,
They call me NAMES,

LAZY for some
FREE for some
HAPPY for some
LIBERATED for some
INDEPENDENT for some
LUCKY for some....!!!
Coz'
to cry my heart out
is not just me...!

I FEEL LIKE ASKING -
Do they see ME
-
Shopping,
Watching movies
Enjoying parties
Laughing
Gossiping...
???

When I do nothing,
Let me be,
Let me be in memory of my son...
My mind needs no DISTRACTION,
My body needs no REPAIRS,
My face needs no FACIALS,
My hair needs no MASSAGING...!

I am fine by myself
LET ME BE...!!!

If we're together
When we're older,
If one's not left for another,
If one's not dead,
Or out of sorts
Or imprisoned on an institutional bed;
Let me tell what lies ahead.

We'll go to sleep wearing socks,
And rise by our internal clocks;
While on walks we'll hold hands,
And listen while the other talks.
We'll sit content by the St. Clair River
In Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.

We'll have our tea and buttered toast,
On weekends enjoy your Sunday Roast.
Around the table our children sit,
With grandkids we're blessed to be with.
Then, in the evening, when all are gone,
And we're in our home of homes,
I'll confess my love again;
You're all I've wanted all along.

The day our first child was born,
Our bohemian and crazy  life style was gone,
We became architects of our own characters,
Which is what matters,
For children are our reflections,
And they learn from our actions.

Every so often children throwing tantrums
Catch parent faces, bracing fallen sourness
Where outlines wrinkle rosy outlook sadly
Raisins having pits

Read CC's blog at Poetry Soup, describing  sapphic stanza with a jux. I found that form interesting, spent hours marveling and researching. I attempted my first one. Not sure if this is correct-11/11/11/5. In this poem I wrote of a parent coping with a child's misbehavior. The effect of such leaving a wrinkled image much like a raisen on the parents face with the juxtaposition at the end of the poem, which is a play on words, too, raisens/raising.

She
When the darkness compels me
She is the light that unveils me
Patient and kind
She is mine
Oh so forgiving
It’s somewhat chilling
She loves me
When no one is willing
Heart so pure
That I am sure
Taking my breath away
Each and everyday
She knows me
More than I can say
Made just for me
She is where I want to be
She is me
