When you sing
                                                                                           I cry

When as stars you shine
                                                                                    I wonder
                                                                                   and sigh

You live in the hollow
                         of my moon

               eating my shrooms

You glitter bright

               to my arms delight

Your comet eyes

Milky way smile

Star cluster hair

Nebulous wiles

and cares

Have caught me intentionally
                                                      unaware

.
If ever a man, who saw the gentle
Gifts given, freely, ripeness on branches,
Fortunate blooms by the minuscule clover,
Sun showers in the dances of the yellow
Bees, wisdoms ringing in spirals of ancient
Trees, a man might then be sorely moved
As the crushing work a day world hushes
His spirit, a man might dream of peace
And not sail capsized by navy grey suit,
Slogging in oceans of paper deadlines,
In girding grids, grind of lonely streets,
But know of graces in sauntered day,
Hear the in-songs of long unsuffering
Birds as they jaunt through the leaves,
A spirit might wake into light and still
Be dreaming and not limp wounded
In step of site, petrified salt of job
And unforgiven city, if ever a man
Was a man, born in embodiment
Of perpetual joys and not a toy
Tossed by the hollow spirits
Of the brood indifferent.

They fall . . . gold ,

         bronze . . . copper . . . and brass

Jeweled like glass

         'n emerald . . . ambered . . . and rubied

The days of my life

         fall autumned . . .

               sudden . . . and fast

Shadows flee
Under Sun’s brilliant light
To be exiled
Back to the confines of night
Darkness‘s prisoners are
Released its hold
To bask in the freedom
Of sunny Gold

Stay the moon
Cloudless and glowing
In her naked splendour
With her silver-white light
Cutting shadows
With sudden edges
Sharp enough to shave a man's face
Let her alien ambience
And constant strangeness
Reshape perception

And how stars sparkle
Heavenly diamonds on velvet night
So very many to see
And more beyond numbers
That our eyes will never see
And every moving star
Holds it's clutch of planets
An uncountable number
Of unheard stories

Yet again the rain.
Once again
washing the colour from the day.
Wet and liquid grey
clouds  obliterating the sun,
preventing full daylight from
reaching this streaming place.
Until, an early dreary evening
when, with curtains closed
drum-rolls against the window
as passing flurries of wind
throw volleys at the glass
here where the rain lives.
