Poetic T
We only live once,
the question is are we living
          or sleeping through
                           the wonderment of life..

Never run through life walk it slowly..
                    Don't sleep through it,
open your eyes and look at what you can see
                                     when you look closely..

                     You'll see more
and enjoy the walk
because we can only walk a path so long...
When I flip and skip a word or jumble lines
that become the sum of what I do
it doesn't bother me
it's only my pretence at poetry and who cares anyway?
Shakespeare?
no dear
he's long gone along with Shelley, Keats and John Donne,

I feel at times alone
like the lines don't want me and
I roam
abroad.

In Dubrovnik with a beatnik or
on the Rhone or the Rhine
I feel at home
I feel fine, in
Sierra Leone sometime alone
but mostly with friends.

I'm going to keep on skipping
keeping on ripping the
words into shreds
making some beds to
lay upon
until
I am gone.

next.
On the stage
is the one
he is not

smiles shakes hands
holds close and tight
he is right on spot.

Hides the real face
speaks and shares
like he is a saint

blamelessly white
open in the light
without a taint.

Busy in the act
to keep away the fact
he is on guard

audience gloats
over crisp anecdotes
any dissent debarred.

From a distance
some in silence
read it in bold

the gore in the glory
the gaps in the story
and all that's untold.

I taste death
in every food I eat
I see beauty
in every face I meet

It all once lived
before it died
One day maybe
nothing will need to die
for mankind to survive

I see beauty
in the face of every  person I meet

The public world
of shopping malls
Supermarkets
Working's pall

Inside while primitive
fantasies
still reside
Rageful tides
Spiderwebs blowing down hillsides

Carrying  on a private conversation
in a public gathering
"a little privy please"
There are no walls
in the outhouse
The outhouse is lined
with mirrors and windows

The rules are the rules
even for desire
tho sometimes we all do
a mashpit at the opera

Everything has a taste
Internal
External
make a mistake
it's back to the wild
Food for fodder
fodder for thought

Still seeing beauty
in every face I meet
Tasting death
in every food I eat

Makes water in
the desert
so so sweet.

Heated tongues had no temperance to spare

Betrayal is a fickle master cloaked in innocence

Eyes held truths with no regards to context

Illusions were never more real that when piercing
The heart left to bleed pounding desperately on the floor
Under the foot of merciless pain

How do you explain the inexplicable?

Some things just end while others start

The resoning was perfectly logical
But ****** if anyone could see it

Off they went onto seperate trajectories
Only to find tge truth revealed in 20 years of wastedness

Because faith seemed a too bigger thing
To hold through this broken prism

It was only when they travelled around it in oposite motions
They could see they belonged together

Far too late,  as other sattlites they collected were now in the way

And faith seemed once again bigger to hope for

And not a thing was learnt.

~

had i not known wrong
i had been the lesser man
had i not sung winter’s song
i had known no warmth to gain
had i never tasted blood
i failed to see fragility
and had i not these understood
life’s tenderness was lost to me.

You're a sweet sweet friend
said the rain to the wind
pushing me to find a place to land

You're a harsh master
said the trail to the mountain
leading me higher then I even knew
I could go

You're teaching me all
said the river to the ground
guiding me down
to mother ocean's mouth

You're the father
said the earth to the sun
bestowing life
in the great dark vacuum sea

You're my consciousness
said the darkness to the mind
which allows me to behold
the light
the wonders of beauty
all around me.
