Sally A Bayan
(fourteen lines)

Every day, we start our usual pace
unaware, how we follow, get ourselves into the race
going fast... becoming faster
sliding up and down, like a roller coaster.
It could be on one fine or not so ordinary day
on an unknown place along the way
we fall....get lost.....we stray
To find our way back, we retrace
But when speed becomes intolerable, or unbearable
we then pack up...we conclude, "today is unmanageable."
We inhale...exhale...settle.........make up our minds,
say, "tomorrow is another day..." we leave the past behind.
We walk anew as the day begins...keep up with the pace
try to do better... to stay within the race...

Sally

***when will we ever slow down?  Any chance we get
let us find some time.....to be silent
to be alone...just thinking..listening....reflecting
lenten season...or any season...**

She got star dust sprinkled evenly
Within the shorelines of her ravishing eyes
And stardust, pristine naïve look benignly
Creasing her soft supple aristocratic face no need to accessorize
Her posture upright and poised
Elegance, charm and grace effortlessly effused
By her, emotional hazards posed
By a presence so spell-binding, one will be amused
At the hypnotic effect experienced by
All and sundry
Though she turns a blind eye
A scathingly sultry
look suddenly evident on her sweet face turned sour
She undoubtedly is a toxic flower.
Ever been at a cool chill spot
then an angel of a lady passed by
and you'd forget your 'wares'
and steal a myriad stares

Down a long lane
With a sunset in the west
Flowers here and there
Tall firs and pines
From in the distance
The song of a bubbling creek
Comes from the dark beautiful forest
Where shade mingles with twilight skies
Only the faint painting of a sunset
Is left in the celestial veil of
Sky now
Slowly the colors
Bleed and fade
Then suddenly all together vanish
As I walk down this lane
Listening to the evening sounds
Crickets, cicadas, and katydids
The song of the whippoorwill
And the solo of the wood thrush
Makes me dance alone
On that long lane
Now I skip and now I jump
And now I twirl around
'Til I make my way to that sequestered cottage
That makes beauty sing
And happy tears cry
Some say it's just a cottage
Nothing fancy or grand
But in my heart I know
That this cottage is
A Home Sweet Home indeed
And I will always remember
This scene I created and painted in my head
Perhaps this painted journeys
Will help my broken heart heal
And my broken wings mend
Whenever I think of
Sunset Cottage

Yes, we shall walk through ferns as tall as our waist
And step over the beige colored mushrooms
We'll sit down and dream beside the creek
And let the melody of a cello and harp duet
Refresh us and give us strength anew
We'll live inside that old-fashioned home
With lovely wallpaper in nearly every room
We'll sit down together on the comfortable window seat
Overlooking the dreamy farm with tall, tall grass
And rustic fences here and there in those verdant pastures
We can sip cold Dr. Pepper on the privacy of our verandah
Enjoying the silence together--me and you
We'll stroll through gardens full of iris blooms
Take walks down our flowering cherry tree lane
Walk inside the beautiful forest with wild honeysuckle vines
And periwinkles carpeting the forest floor
Yes, we'll wander aimlessly all day
Maybe walk a few dogs and ride some horses
This is our dream that may never come true
But we'll keep on wishing for it--me and you

The deeper you stare into
The flotsam,
The clearer our origin stories
Become:

We are shipwrecks.

Islands
Bro-

ken Like bread and
Doused in
Salted wines.

We are cupbearers,

Slaves
With rusted chains
That dangle
Loosely
From our ankles,

Shrouding our skin from the harsh
Freedom

Sun offers.
From a harbour, not a beach. More your story than mine.

Tonight
For once
We shall reside
in Heaven
and live for the eternity
and enjoy the bliss
of a friends company

Love each other
and combine souls
for tonight
We shall reside
in Heaven
and enjoy
the morning sunshine
and moonlight at dark

Tonight
We dance with each other
and learn about the other
love till the sun rises
for tonight
We reside in
Heaven
Parade and bonfire before homecoming, enjoyed it. Band rocks, so does she and my friends.

I would love to feel love,
but rejection is a grim reminder
that I should not let myself
to be fallen deeply in love.
That I should never
misheard those sweet words
and to never assume
that you feel the same way.

Every little thing
that don’t make sense about me
make sense only when I’m with you.
And I’m ecstatic, for I hope
to hold your hands forever
into that whimsical place,
but I should not fall into love,
I might fall into pieces.

You made me confused and static,
and I need you to know
how my heart trembles
whenever I see you, but I couldn’t.
I’m just afraid I might loss you
in the end of this battle,
and what I’m feeling right now,
at this moment that I think of you
is indescribable.

I dreamed I dreamed within a dream

As I slept inside a dream

Where we were both together

Balanced on the seam

Overhead a ****** of crows

With flapping of the wings

Woke the sleep of the dead

A dream within a dream

I'll have my people call your people
Where they can set something up
Make sure they schedule a meeting
So we can get something done

We'll put our heads together
Brain storming like never before
Working off bold charts and diagrams
That we've drawn up on the board

Calling out for coffee and doughnuts
We could be here all night
Screaming and hashing it over
Till we get this thing  perfectly right

Only one thing I need to know though
That's not exactly clear
Who called this meeting to order
And why are we all here

Why they call it Devil's Elbow,
I don't and never will know,
Because this is the most beautiful place I've seen;
It's so beautiful like a dream.
There are fir trees on the cliff behind the lighthouse dear,
Oh I do so love it here,
A light sheen of mist fills the air around the trees;
The sunset reflects on the sand which blows away in the breeze.
The majestic seagulls walk on the shore and fly in the air,
So freely and happily without a care,
Beautiful waves crash against the boulders in motion;
The seagulls sing a song of the ocean.
The beacon's light guides the ships at night,
Oh the beauty of it's light,
On and on the waves crash and flow;
Oh I love Devil's Elbow!
