Yesterday is gone.
Your actions can’t be undone,
Why not learn and teach?

So she's leaving us
Driven out by the mindless idiots
Who infest this site
I had it with my last daily "Hope"
But the writer had less likes for all his poems
Than I've got in just one
We, we who write and post do it for one reason
We write because we love words
We DO not write for torrents of abuse
And so I say to you
Ignore the abusers because they are lessor people
Than you
There is no love in their words
Simply because they are incapable of expressing love
You, you the poets, you the true writers
Stay, ignore the idiots
YOU are the beating heart that keeps us alive

At the end of it all
These walls will fall
And the naked truth
Of your misspent youth
Will stalk your night
And bring to light
The shadowed ways
Of your formative days
But shed your fears
And save your tears,
Your past will not define you.

There they are in all their glory!
Poems 'bout food to tell a story...

The sunny side up of a summer day
The yolk is rising to a fried egg whey!

There's plenty of grits
to fill the spoon...
With sizzling stars
and a flapjack MOON!

Pasta hills with pesto grass
Sure to give your hips some sass!

Fresh salmon salad on some greens
You're much more likely to be lean

Sensual fruits delight the eyes
And they're easier on the thighs!

Bread and muffins in a race
With cookies and cream
to stuff your face?

Cleanse the body! Cleanse the soul!
You can break the jello mold!

But I don't know if I can last...

I write about FOOD
whilst I do a FAST!

I'm doing a body cleansing fast right now and all I can think of is FOOD!

Would I matter to you,

If my feet are inches above the floor?

Still hunger for your skin,
  thirsting the lips that
   once melded into mine
one last blissful night together
  flowing of wine and passion,
never suspecting you were
   letting me down easy,
our hearts were in sync -
or so I was led to believe
   veiled in ecstasy,
    a cruelty worse than death
in the least, dying has a final chapter

~

Miles of nothing,
beige on beige on beige
The sun is screaming,
blistering my skin,
draining me slowly
as breath is heated
and tastes bitter
Shoulders slung low
I can’t stand straight,
bent over struggling,
nothing is anywhere
and nowhere is here

Leaving footprints
for the wind dancers,
black feather fathers,
winged circlers
High above, watching
sifting time
in weakened increments,
hourglass patterns of
falling granules
sinking deeper

Water is a dream
and this dream, a nightmare
for it is there,
just ahead, I can see it glistening
but it does not exist
nothing exists,
as the oasis in my mind
dries up, leaving
empty indentations
on horizontal planes, flat lands
of arid emotions
drifting in and out
reaching for…
reaching
It sure is hot here today.
