To the trees, to sun
to birds and the ways of love
to breath - I thank you

The harsh wee calls
Of whip-poor-wills
On the night wind travels
Telling me how it feels**

I sat by the window
looking

My soul fused
with all I saw

A day will come
when we fly away

Following the Geese
and the Sun

I prayed for light, He sent me sun
I prayed for moisture, He sent me dew
I prayed for beauty, He sent me flowers
I prayed for love, He sent me you

to measure out lumps of beauty
divide all into equal shares
this is a task beyond reckoning
beauty is linear and beauty is broken
and each broken piece mirrors the whole
each whole expands eternally
and the present moment is the most beautiful

The first snow fall
Sparkling like diamonds
Even though it comes year after year
It seems magical
A newborn babies first cry
The look of Love in the parents eyes
It seems magical
The seasons changing from fall to winter
Spring to Summer
The preparations it brings
It seems magical
The blooming of flowers after a harsh winter
The fragrance they bring to the air
Makes me stop for a moment and stare
It seems magical
The first sunrise of each day
The rays of the sun
The moon at night to light our way
The starlight sky
So beautiful I could cry
The feeling that anything is possible
It seems magical

I see from the third floor windows,
Sparrows gathering around the post feeder.
Crows, ravens, and an occasional stray Jackdaw,
Gather around, waiting to feast upon fresh carrion.
A thousand blackbirds, with their red wing patch,
Swoop down into the gardens by the fountain.
I stare out the window watching the sights,
Never being disturbed in tranquility.

Here's a vase.
You don't give flowers
To a flower.*

In meadows green and lush
I often see butterfly on graceful wing
Going about through the day
Flitting flower to flower.
To surprise me along paths
Ladybug rest upon my shoulder
Without a sound as butterfly
But so tiny and colourful
Then flies away home.
Ah, near the closing of day
Firefly light up the meadow so dim
With flickering light so soothing
Night curtains close but warmth of firefly lingers.
Before going to sleep I watch firefly
And listen to nature's nocturne.

all has stopped and holding out
fierce spears find every surface
no-one will be outside today
