Call it a reflection
On how I feel for you
I don’t wear protection
You know how I do
Foolish as that may be
When I’m deep inside
I don’t wanna pull out
And seldom have I tried

Ya see the consequences
Rarely come to mind
And maybe that explains
Why you’ll also find
I don’t think I’m ready
For instant fatherhood
Even though I say I am
I question if I should

When you bring me to the point
My face looks like I’m prayin
Don’t hold me responsible
For the things that I be sayin
In the heat of the moment
I might ask you to have my baby
But if that were to happen
I’d want you to save me

That says more about me
Than it does about you
But if you had a baby
I don’t know what I'd do
I don’t think I’m ready
For that responsibility
And if that were to happen
I don’t know what you would see

When you bring me to the point
My face looks like I’m prayin
Don’t hold me responsible
For the things that I be sayin
In the heat of the moment
I might ask you to have my baby
But if that were to happen
I’d want you to save me

Ya see the consequences
Rarely come to mind
And maybe that explains
Why you’ll also find
I don’t think I’m ready
For instant fatherhood
Even though I say I am
I question if I should

The cracks are starting to show
Time catches up ya know
If you were a woman
They’d call you a **
But you’d still be a *******
Even so
And your star-like patina
Is losing its glow

The scars of history
Will make certain
That all of the women
You’re hurtin’
Will come out
From behind their glass curtain
To put an end
To the abuse and flirtin’

Now you can go on
And pretend
Karma won’t get ya
In the end
But I’ve got news
For you friend
The ark of justice
Is long but it bends

What’s that old paradigm?
You can fool all the people
Sometimes
But you can’t get away
With your crimes
When we still see
The same telltale signs
Which only serves to remind

They’re the ones who
Pull our strings
And do all sorts of
Other things
Who really are in charge
Of our government at large
While they’ve not been spotted to date
They’re known as The Deep State

The President is going
To extremes
In his search for
Coronavirus vaccines
And he’s blaming his own FDA
For constantly getting in his way
They’re The Deep State
He likes to say

The Deep State theory
Has been used
By cable networks
LIke Fox News
Who stands ready
To light the fuse
To give the rest of us
The blues

The Deep State flames
Are always fanning
By ex- presidential advisors
Like Steve Bannon
Who recently has lost
His standing
And has all but been
Presidentially abandoned

The devil does exist
He’s living in our midst
But William Barr insists
That he’s not a liar
While impressing those
Much higher
Beware to the buyer
The situation’s dire

The devil does exist
If you get my gist
And let me tell you this
That he’s not a joke
Look at how
He goes for broke
Smell the sulfur
From his smoke

The devil does exist
And those who can’t resist
Are on his naughty list
They gladly sell their souls
While assuming
Their various roles
That he’s assigned to them
They all bow down to him

The devil does exist
And so we should resist
He’s looking to enlist
Willing supplicants
To follow him
Like a colony of ants
Then they take a chance
By lowering their pants

I don’t want to be
The devil’s advocate
But Carly Forina
In the aggregate
Looks like a demon
And better yet
She’d be a president
We’d live to regret

Donald Trump
Might have made a case
When he enjoined us
To look at that face
Who would elect her
And in any case
Her Hewlet Packard tenure
Was a disgrace

Anyone can provoke
Massive layoffs
Like a non-contender
For the playoffs
She says she’s a savior
Former employees scoff
It’s campaign rhetoric
She should knock off

I’ll give it to her
She’s very well spoken
But a business genius
She’s got to be joking
Which prompts me to ask
What has she been smoking
By the end of the race
She’ll clearly be broken

Now we’re left
To wonder why
He decided not to let
The FBI
Get beyond the
Noise and, chatter
So they can
Investigate the matter

He wants a quick
Confirmation
Of his nominee
Cause he has no patience
Knowing he might
Be vindicated
Which already he has
Anticipated

So how it will end
Is anybody’s guess
Cuz those eleven old white men
Will do their best
To make the female
Seem at fault
You see its part
Of their gestalt

If the devil’s in
The details, and
The deed occurred
Way back when
It’s a sin now
Like it was then
But how she emerges
Will all depend

He has celebrity and fame
So everybody knows his name
But a modicum of intelligence isn’t the same
As him being prepared to play this game
See he’s created quite a brand
Which in the short run gives him the upper hand
But that doesn’t mean he understands
The nature of the job’s demands

The people may not be aware
Whether or not that’s his real hair
But either or why should they care
How long it takes him to prepare
He’s number two now in the poll
At least that’s what we’re being told
But give it time it will get old
Even from a man so bold

The quality he has the most
Is the fact he’s tres verbose
And makes headlines in the Post
Because he’s not afraid to boast
Or inclined to make false claims
Of birthrights or presidential names
Despite the ones he tries to shame
To me it’s all one in the same

They’ve labeled him The Donald
Like that clown, you know, Ronald
Or as I prefer a nerd like Arnold
A blabbermouth think Mitch McConnell
Even after all my words are spent
He’ll never be the president
Instead he’ll remain a malcontent
And I’m sure you share that sentiment

There’s blood on his hands
But justice demands
Having the proof
And he’s been aloof
Those who did the deed
Have a greater need
They want to survive
To stay alive

So it’s absurd to expect
Them to connect
The dots to the puzzle
They’re sufficiently muzzled
And won’t place the blame
On Prince What’s-his-name?
Though  it’s hard to miss it
He’s clearly complicit

So the stench lingers on
The conclusion's foregone
That he placed the order
And condoned the slaughter
Of his journalistic critic
And just to be analytic
In his position
He can't stand opposition

His father is ailing
With health clearly failing
And the throne is in sight
To his son’s delight
So he’s biding his time
While hatching a crime
That’s so barbaric
The result may be pyrrhic

The President may be a goner
From the dreaded corona
Guess we haven’t turned that corner
Wonder if we’re ever gonna
He didn’t believe in wearing a mask
Whether he does now we’ll have to ask
Does he still find it a task?
Or does he want an oxygen mask

So much for his conspiracy theory
Of which by now we’ve become weary
Now his prognosis is so dreary
That I wouldn’t want him anywhere near me
And as for us turning a corner
If we believe this who do we honor?
When the President himself may be a spawner
Yet this breaking news may be a yawner

At the president’s constant insistence
And because he has such strong resistance
The White House doesn’t practice social distance
Because scientific facts he routinely dismisses
Now we’re playing a game of wait and see
Does he have it? You can search me
If he does as it might well may be
It will remain an ongoing mystery

Perhaps at last he’s learned his lesson
But he’ll probably keep us guessing
Though If he survives it will be a blessing
From on high there’s no contesting
I guess now he’ll take it serious
And if he doesn’t he’s probably delirious
Yet he could also be impervious
Though his behavior has been murderous!

The Dreamers dream no more
Like they did before
They were brought to our shore
By their parents seeking more
After leaving their homes behind
Hoping that they could find
A little peace of mind
Across the border line

But a man who’s filled with hate
Is determined to change their fate
And at any rate
Has started the debate
As to what should done
With each and everyone
Of them under the sun
Who soon must hide or run

Now it’s up to the Supreme Court
Whether or not, to cut them short
Or otherwise abort
The permission for which they sought
To stay here where they were raised
Although you’d be amazed
Some judges are not fazed
Because their eyes are glazed

And so we’ll have to see
What’s their ultimate destiny
Will they be allowed to remain free
In the place they long to be
Or locked up and deported
As this president has ordered
Once this matter has been sorted
Even though the Dreamers fought it

The drums are beating louder
And they’re saying
I’m not worth the powder
That you snort up your nose
And that
You obviously chose
Over me
As I can plainly see

The drums are beating louder
And to be exact
They’re telling me
That crack
Makes you act
The way you act
And as a matter of fact
I’ve given you enough slack

The drums are beating louder
And I don’t like the sound
Because you’re
Not around
In fact
You can’t be found
Have you
Gone underground?

The drums are beating louder
And you’ve been
Acting strange
They say that
You’ve changed
And I don’t like
The sound of the drum
Nor the person you’ ve become

The Duchess of Sussex
Happens to be black
So the racists in Great Britain
Don’t know how to act
Or how to deal with
That salient fact
She was born in America
Now she’s coming back

Prince Harry loves her
And you can tell
He told his royal relatives
To go to hell
But a part-time royal
Isn’t easy to sell
And the Queen hasn’t
Weighed in, as well

They’ll spend half the year
In England
And the other half here
They may lose their allowance
Which they’re well aware
But the both of them lovebirds
Couldn’t give a care
There’s enough in their reserves to share

The Duchess of Sussex
Has been rebuked
Now she’s fed up
And so is her Duke
She’s not a nigress
Nor is she a *****
Those names that they call her
Would make anyone puke

The emperor wears no clothes
And has contempt for our laws, as everyone knows
He has a triple chin and a belly that shows
He’s a miserable ******* I suppose
The emperor is naked for the world to see
Which makes him transparent, if you ask me
Though he hides his taxes, how can that be?
If he’s so open, how come we can’t see?

The emperor wears no clothes
And when it comes to Russia, he’s not opposed
To taking their side over those
Of his intelligence assessments, once disclosed
The emperor is what he’d like to be
When he looks in the mirror that’s what he sees
He’s surrounded by sycophants who exist to pleases
As a prerequisite, they must bend their knees

The emperor wears no clothes
Like Pinocchio his nose grows and grows
Because of the path that he obviously chose
It’s our patriotic duty to see that he’s deposed
The emperor is more than we can take
He doesn’t know how to apply the brake
And how did he get there for heaven sake
He’s like an abscess, a bad toothache

The emperor wears no clothes
And therefore, his short coming shows
He constantly picks his nose
And can’t even touch his toes
The emperor is not as he might appear
His rhetoric and actions don’t square
So by now we should all be aware
That he don’t give a **** or a care

How many funerals must we attend
Before the genocide is brought to an end
How many families must be left behind
Before we regain our presence of mind
How many times must it all be repeated
Before the enemy is finally defeated
When will self-love become our sacred trust
See I’ve seen the enemy and the enemy is us

What good are the candles or the cardboard shrines
When it’s apparent that we’ve lost our minds
What good is a painting of the deceased
When the violence is steadily being increased
When will self-love become our sacred trust
See I’ve seen the enemy and the enemy is us

This ain’t a lecture I’m not here to preach
So let’s call this a form of social outreach
The message is urgent I’ll try to be brief
While sharing insight as to my belief
We are the problem and we are the cure
So we can’t go on blaming others anymore
When will self-love become our sacred trust
See I’ve seen the enemy and the enemy is us

How did we get here is open to debate
But I think you’ll agree the root cause is self-hate
Before another brother or sister is harmed
To be forewarned is to be forearmed
We need to return to our original state
Where we loved one another before the hate
I’ve seen the enemy and the enemy is us
I’ve seen the enemy and the enemy is us

Is the enemy of the people
A free press?
Or is it someone
You might not have guessed
Like a person
Who nevertheless
Is defined by
His acts of excess

Is the enemy of the people
A free press
Or a leader
Who lacks largesse
When it comes to
Those he detests
Mexicans, Muslims
And the rest

Is the enemy of the people
A free press
Or the leader
Who’s like an abscess - tooth
But I guess
I digress
Cos I had to get it
Off of my chess

Is the enemy of the people
A free press
Or a faux populist
Of the noblesse
Who promises more
But gives less
And whose childish impulses
Are unsuppressed

The explanation she gavc
Is they’re spying by microwave
And when analyzed in the concave
The situation’s quite grave
Though he may be all alone
In saying they tapped his phone
Let me lay down a contentious bone
It smacks of the Twilight Zone

They are liars one and all
Cos the tales that they tell are quite tall
And it makes them all look so small
By heeding their master’s call
When all he does is tell lies
And their explanations defies
All the wherefore and the whys
As the situation applies

Be careful of your ring tones
They’re feeling their pheromones
And spying through your cell phones
They’re also using drones
So if you’ve got the courage or nerve
There’s all kinds of ways to observe
But to whose interest does it serve
I’ve just given you the hors d’oeuvres

So never mind just a wire tap
There are more ways than that to get trapped
Which she gladly tried to unwrap
Thus earning her master’s backslap
It was his tweet that laid out his case
Though that was clearly misplaced
So to his minions disgrace
They go out there trying to save face

The fact of the matter is that,
None of the Trumps seem to get
That not a single one of ‘em
Are worth a bucket of spit
Even though it’s clear to all
That they think they’re the ****
They are so much less than that
Which they will not admit

Don Junior is so proud of being,
His father’s eldest son
Though in his heart of hearts he knows
That he’s not the chosen one
And lo, poor Eric hardly
Ever factors in
Which when you stop to think about it
Must get under his skin

As for Trump’s youngest, Baron
The jury is still out
But he’ll be as cocky as the rest
I haven’t any doubt
And so while I’m at it
Let’s give Ivanka a shout
For playing Ms. International
But what was that all about?

Which leaves us only Tiffany
Named after the jewelry store
That occupies the space
On her daddy’s lowest floor
But she stays under the radar
So I won’t say any more
Other than to say her older sister
Is spoiled to the core

The family is on shaky ground
When fathers do not stick around
And mothers have no time to spare
For babies who are in their care
When marriages don't run their course
Before the parties seek divorce
And children are left on their own
To run the streets and freely roam

Who's gonna take
The time or care
To bring the family
Back to where
It used to be
Way back when
Women were women
And men were men

The family is a by-gone term
Today too many men just drop *****
And not give it a second thought
About the chances they'll get caught
The mother is left to hold the bag
And even though that is a drag
It's family courts and concrete jungles
Cause that's the way the cookie crumbles

Who's gonna take
The time or care
To bring the family
Back to where
It used to be
Way back when
Women were women
And men were men

Who will step up to the plate
The time is now
It's getting late
It's really up to you and me
To shoulder our responsibility

The family is in mortal danger
When father is a word for stranger
And mothers just want to get high
To help the time fly on by
And what about the consequences
Y'all know that it's all so senseless
And even though we know that's true
The question is what will we do

Who's gonna take
The time or care
To bring the family
Back to where
It used to be
Way back when
Women were women
And men were men

He  doesn’t see,
The far or the near
And refuses to acknowledge
What’s crystal clear
The question isn’t
Did Russia interfere
The question is why,
Does he holds them so dear?

He ran through NATO
Like a hot knife through butter
Said things about the E.U.
Our president shouldn’t utter
Was it a slip of the tongue,
Did you hear him stutter?
He came through
Like morning sun through a shutter

What does Putin
Have on him?
That runs deeper than,
Steele dossier spin?
Who caught him doing it,
And can you tell me when?
Or better yet when,
Is it all gonna end?

If this argument
Isn’t devoid of reason,
Then the President needs to be
Charged with treason
The FBI should march in
And begin seizing
All of the evidence
Before it starts leaving

The first black president
Must have made one hell of an impression
On the man who followed him
Directly in succession
He seems to want to unravel
Whatever is at his discretion
In order to rob the legacy
Of the man whose name means blessing

He did his best to chase
Obamacare away
Without an adequate replacement
To make its absence okay
Now it’s gas emissions
Being lowered by the EPA
I guess fossil fuel behemoths
Are sadly here to stay

And on the international scene
The man has been a wreck
He left the Paris Climate Accord
And gives our allies no respect
Then ***** up to Vlad Putin
A man of greater intellect
And pulled out of the Iran Nuclear deal
To spite Obama I suspect

And when he can denigrate him
He never misses a chance
Much like a woman scorned
Caught in a bad romance
People are getting tired
Of this dismal dance
They can predict his moves
Four moves in advance

The Governor apologized
But the people of Flint realized
He had pulled the wool over their eyes
With contaminated water supplies
It happened when he switched the source
From Lake Huron to the Flint River, of course
It was to save money but he now has remorse
And his voice is starting to get hoarse

And if the people needed further proof
To realize that somebody goofed
Now the lead levels have gone through the roof
And this is the naked truth
See it’s gone from bad to worst
And the damage can’t be reversed
So the people are feeling cursed
They need bottled water to quench their thirst

They’re drawing Lake Huron water once more
And that’s a good restart for sure
Although it isn’t a magical cure
Cuz the water will remain unpure
Until the water is filtered and the pipes are clean
The lead will be there albeit unseen
Negatively affecting the brains and the spleen
The people will still be betwixed and between

It was the Governor’s people they say
That made it all happen that way
And to date no one’s had to pay
For the damages or for the delay
In rectifying the situation
The people have had to be patient
Listening to their public relations
But who’s answering the allegations?

He’s the greatest artist that ever lived
To let him tell it, but is that a myth?
I hear him ******, he does have a gift
But who should we compare him with?
Michaelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel
A major work of art upon which to grapple
Leonardo painted the iconic Mona Lisa
And who created, the leaning Tower of Pisa?

He’s the greatest artist of all time
At least he is in his own mind
But upon inspection what do we find
A mad genius who has crossed the line
His sneaker designs are kind of fly
And his clothes are okay we can’t deny
Though what he's selling we don't tend to buy,
That's the truth of the matter why should we lie?

He’s a great artist and that’s his alibi
And we’re still trying to figure out, the reason why
But is it worth the effort, should we even try?
To decyfer him as if he were Luis Brunei
Thank God Almighty that he’s been saved
From the self indulgence, which had him enslaved
So as he tells it now, he’s no longer depraved
Which is so much different from how he once behaved

He’s the greatest artist that’s now alive
Is a better moniker for him to  strive
But even that requires that he arrive
Where the depth of his artistry can be archived
There’s no arguing that he’s carved a niche
Or that his offerings have made him rich
Yet he’ll never be able to scratch the itch
See in the final analysis that his glitch

You call yourself
“The greatest artist
That God ever created”
But what you post on social media
Has become so hated and dated
That our objections to them
Must be stated
See you shouldn’t be placated

Too bad you placed yourself
In a situation
Where you feel that you don’t need
To take your medication
Because you’re so high
On your own elation
Guess the rest of us will
Just have to remain patient

You are so ****** egotistical
That at times
You even think that you’re mystical
Your Sunday services are becoming
Statistical
So many attend
That you have to be logistical
Since you’ve embraced the metaphysical

What it is that you don’t comprehend
Is that you have gone off
The deepest end
Until you’ve become
Such a big bag of wind
That you have to search
Just to find a friend
Among your acolytes who just pretend

The greatest artist
That God ever created
Might be a little
Too opinionated
His gift in fact
Could be overstated
Enough for that point
To be debated

When you consider
He’s self-anointed
Not chosen by God
As the one who’s appointed
His whole thought pattern
Is somewhat disjointed
But I hope that this knowledge
Won’t leave him disappointed

He thinks so highly
Of himself
That it doesn’t leave room
For anyone else
To place that award
Up on their own shelf
But he’s still more fun
Than a Christmas elf

He’s a megalomaniac
As he’s always been,
Trying to remove
A lifetime of sin
He gets “A” for effort
And a great big grin
But I’m curious when
Will the madness end?

Finally has tottled

Perhaps because of

Am I clear
Even if they were being
Insincere

War and unrest everywhere we turn
What will it take for us to learn
How many flags do we need to burn
Before we develop mutual concern
It's the human condition we're mired in
That makes us enemies instead of friends
We need to atone for our mutual sins
Right here and now is where it begins

Hate is a cancer that needs to be cured
It's the human condition we can't afford
Love is the answer we haven't explored
In a world of confusion we need accord

There's enough food for us to feed
Every person or nation that has the need
There's no excuse for wanton greed
It's not required for us to succeed
Tell me what are we citizens for
If the rich are the only ones getting more
Why shouldn't they help the needy and poor
Just like Jesus said a long time before

Hate is a cancer that needs to be cured
It's the human condition we can't afford
Love is the answer we haven't explored
In a world of confusion we need accord

Haven't you heard a word that I said
Or must I hold a sword over your head
We cannot live in constant dread
Without peace and justice we can't get ahead

Hate is a cancer that needs to be cured
It's the human condition we can't afford
Love is the answer we haven't explored
In a world of confusion we need accord

We argue whether global warming is near
Then continue to pollute the atmosphere
Is it any wonder the sky isn't clear
And the ozone layer gets thinner each year
We have to protect our natural resources
Cos we don't have many other recourses
But too many of us tend to be remorseless
Despite the signs of the natural forces

Hate is a cancer that needs to be cured
Love is the answer we haven't explored
In a world of confusion we need accord
It's the human condition we can't afford

War and unrest everywhere we turn
What will it take for us to learn
How many flags do we need to burn
Before we develop mutual concern
It's the human condition we're mired in
That makes us enemies instead of friends
We need to atone for our mutual sins
Right here and now is where it begins

For the hungry or bereft
Who are taking their last breath
Cuz there’s few options left
It’s either innovation or death
You can’t depend on no one else
To reinvent yourself
If you find you’re not compelled
Then success will be withheld

Are you listening to me
It’s all about your artistry
Which determines what will be
Just be patient and you’ll see
Innovation’s recognized
By the ears and by the eyes
It takes that to realize
What you may not have surmised

Now it’s clear you have achieved
What your mind and heart believed
Something no one could conceive
Cuz they thought you were naïve
But you pushed on anyway
Now you’re lauded today
You didn’t care what people say
Your persistence is on display

If you’re hungry enough
Then you’ll hang on in there tough
Even when the going’s rough
Cuz you’re made of stronger stuff
And the world will redefine
The power that’s your mind
You had a blueprint and design
Now your work has been enshrined

The impeachment of this president
Is what is known as karma
Because the American public
Finally grew tired of all his drama
They long for the bygone yesteryear
When things were much more calmer
Although when he wants to
He can readily be a charmer

The impeachment of this president
Is clearly what is called for
Because we the Amerocan public
Can hardly take much more
And there are people like me
Who have taken into account
The volume of the accusations
Right down to the full amount

The impeachment of this president
Is a very serious matter
Even if you choose to put aside
All of the chitter chatter
But it seems that’s what’s called for
Under these circumstances
And the Whistleblower’s allegations
Only serves to advance this

The impeachment of this president
Falls within the Constitution
Unlike climate change
Or the attendant air pollution
He can’t throw a rock
Then try to hide his hand
Now he must take stock
‘Cuz everyone is not a fan

Their child is gay
But who knew
We can’t talk about
LGBTQ
So what are parents
To do?
Tell me truthfully
What would you?

Their child is
Considered queer
And that’s their burden
To bear
Cos they’re not
Allowed to share
Though other people
Stop and stare

Their child
Is suicidal
As we stand by
Being idle
And discussing it
Has been bridled
It’s been outlawed
Cos they’re not entitled

Their child is told
Don’t say gay
Whether or not
They feel that way
Which to them suggests
They’re not okay
See their identity
Gets in the way

Their dilemma
Remains to be such
Where they seem determined
To stay out of touch
They knock immigration
A tad too much
And when it comes to women’s rights
They stay in dutch

To win their primaries
They evangelize
By quoting the Bible
As if we’re not wise
Cuz some of us go
For their ******* up lies
When the truth is
Right there before our eyes

Any ol’ *******
Can kick down a barn
How many can build one
Or make chili con carne
They want to dismantle
The healthcare that’s there
Without a replacement
Of which we’re aware

They go against
The rising tide
Then wonder why
They’re being denied
They’d rather remain antiquated
By embracing the things
Most people hated
A salient fact that can’t be debated

Their nominee is a comedy
If you’re asking me
‘Cos how could they be
Serious are they delirious
Minds are curious
And would like to know
How they could stoop that low
Guess it goes to show

If elected president
Then the message sent
Is full of bad intent
We’d be confused not amused
That they would choose
Such a bafoon
A flesh and blood cartoon
I guess we’re at high noon

The competition
Just fueled his ambition
They were so busy *******
In the wind but again
They didn’t get it
Because they were ill fitted
To assume the throne
He occupies alone

But you know what they say
Rome fell in a day
We too could go that way
So let’s elevate the debate
And stop the rhetoric
And labels that won’t stick
Beyond the election
Why not seek perfection

We can’t go on
Living in their shadow
We too must one day
Rise up to battle
To try and correct
The wrong that we see
And write our own pages
In our history

They cast a long
And a wide shadow
Sacrificed much
To join in the battle
For equal rights
And equality
In order for all of us
To one day be free

Each of us has
A moral obligation
To further the ideals
Of this great nation
We have to do more
Than be silent and patient
Or sit on our hands
While being complacent

We can’t go on
Living in their shadow
We too must one day
Rise up to battle
To try and correct
The wrong that we see
And write our own pages
In our history

Though hearts are broken
The  jury has spoken
But they had to be joking
Cos now we all are woken
Our justice system is flawed
Though it once was awed
It’s now thought of as fraud
Not worthy of an applaud

So as not to be unkind
I thought justice was blind
But that was only in my mind
Cos it is not as you shall find
And it needs to be stated
It can be complicated
Or perhaps it’s overrated
It’s not always checkmated

Despite instructions sent
It can be skewed or bent
By the human element
Influenced by the eloquent
Closing arguments
Which can shade the intents
Of all kinds of defendants
Who’ve been freed therefore and hence

There’s a big dichotomy
Between how it’s supposed to be
And the things we actually see
In the courtroom which is key
To the thesis herein rendered
About the apprehended
Because of verdicts that engendered
Outcomes that haven’t been splendored

It’s past time
That they make amends
The Karens, the  Beckys
And Kens
It’s high time
That they cleanse
The focus of their lens
If they want to be our friends

It’s their privileged
Attitudes
That alters
Our objective moods
See it’s hard
To reconcile
The high level
Of their bile

The Karens, the Beckys
And Kens
Are following
A sad trend
It doesn’t matter
The message they send
Or the people
That they offend

So if they
Take objection
For the naming
Selection
Or should demand
A correction
Can they then
Change their complexion?

He’s the kind of chaos
That we deserve
If we allow him
To once again serve
In his present capacity
Do we have the nerve?
Along with the audacity
Or even the swerve?

He stands between us
And our southern border
Against immigration
And a wall made to order
He’s a criminal enterprise
Who touts law and order
So don’t be surprised
By his speech disorder

As long as we
Have him around
Conspiracy theories
Will no doubt abound
Whether or not
Those theories are sound
Even after they’ve
Been run aground

We can only be saved
By him alone
He’s the greatest in that office
That we’ve ever known
But fortunately now
That his cover’s been blown
He’ll have to reap
The seeds that he’s sown

He was the king
And his reign was long
Over seven decades
Still going strong
His queen was Lucile
But now that he’s gone
She’ll be in morning
From now on

The king is dead
Hear what I said
The king is dead
Hear what I said
The king is dead
Long live the blues
The king is dead
Who’ll fill his shoes

Born in the Mississippi delta
But believe you me
No one sung the blues
Quite like B.B.
He was the king
True blues royalty
And we are enriched
By his long legacy

The king is dead
Hear what I said
The king is dead
Hear what I said
The king is dead
Long live the blues
The king is dead
Who’ll fill his shoes

We’re gonna miss him
“Bout that there’s no doubt
Who’ll fill his shoes
We’ll have to figure out
Though it won’t be easy
To have that kind of clout
Do y’all understand
What I’m talking about

The king is dead
Hear what I said
The king is dead
Hear what I said
The king is dead
Long live the blues
The king is dead
Who’ll fill his shoes

He sang so many songs
Like The Thrill Is Gone
How Blue Can You Get
And I could go on
To Know You is To Love You
The list is so long
And we’re thankful to God
That B.B. was born

The king is dead
Hear what I said
The king is dead
Hear what I said
The king is dead
Long live the blues
The king is dead
Who’ll fill his shoes

Because of the law of
Unintended consequences
We need to take a deep breath
And come to our senses
A war with Iran
Would be very expensive
Therefore, there’s a need
For us to be pensive

A war with Iran
Would cost so many lives
That thought alone,
Should give us the hives
Think of the mothers
Fathers and wives
Before we decide to
Bring out the knives

Iran fought Iraq
When the death toll was millions
And the cost in treasure
Went up in the trillions
They also lost count
Of their dead civilians
Taken back to the age
Of the reptilians

Once we go in,
How do we get out?
Clearly that’s something
Worth thinking about
And what do we do
To find another route
For us to get all
The oil out?

If the leaks are real
But the news is fake
Because that’s what it takes
For the stories to break
Then what’s the average Joe
Suppose to make
Out of what he’s hearing
For heaven’s sake

If the leaks are real
But the news is fake
And the press conferences
Are considered cheesecake
And his Twitter account
He won’t forsake
You can even find him up
Tweeting at daybreak

If the leaks are real
But the news is fake
And all night long
He’s wide awake
Looking at TV like
Some kind of sponge cake
Hanging on to his cell phone
Like it's a keepsake

If the leaks are real
But the news is fake
And he’s striking back
Like a rattlesnake
See it’s a spectacle
In which we all partake
Though we should tell him
To jump in a lake

He’s a little man
Filling big shoes
When asked to acknowledge
An American hero, refused
Like a petulant child
Stuck in his twos
Until he became the fodder
Of print and broadcast news

The adjective that applies
To him is petty
The palms of his hands
Are always sweaty
He’s a bull in a china shop
Or maybe a yeti
And his skin is the color
Of a bowl of spaghetti

When government flags
Were flying half staff
The one at the White House
Was on high not half
It was yet another
Presidential gaff
If it wasn’t so sad
It would make you laugh

He’s a little man
Filling big shoes
Who’s not quite up to the task
But that’s no new news
Yet he’s the one
A certain segment will choose
To occupy the White House
Though blemished and bruised

Despite the discord that’s been fanned
The Lone Ranger and Superman
Have disappeared like contraband
They’re trying hard to understand
How things got this far-gone
And how minorities got this strong
They’re wondering where they went wrong
Which is an old familiar song

Judging by the way they act
They want to take the country back
To an era of white versus black
And that's a sad but salient fact
But those gone-by days are long gone
And generally speaking we’ve move on
It has become a brand new dawn
Leaving the dinosaurs to morn

It took them a while to realize
The changes right before their eyes
And now they just romanticize
About keeping down those they despise
Although that horse has left the barn
All they can say is **** **** ****
Their hegemony an ancient yarn
And perhaps that’s why they’re so forlorn

They’ve long been living in a land
Where they were the ones with the upper hand
But like so many grains of sand
Others have begun to expand
So my question is can’t we all just get along
Am I day dreaming could I be wrong
United we stand - together we're strong
But I thought you knew that all along

The long wait is over
The totals are in
Vice President Biden
Did clearly win
And soon his administration
Will actually begin
And we the people
Can exhale once again

The long wait is over
With all the votes counted
The roadblocks and obstacles
Were soundly surmounted
And the false allegations
Similarly were discounted
And the President’s high horse
Was finally dismounted

The long wait is over
Now we can rejoice
The people rose up
To raised their voice
Clearly Donald Trump
Wasn’t their choice
See it left him in tears
And his eyes are still moist

The long wait is over
And we’re finally free
From the grips of a mad man
And his tyranny
With the quiet parts spoken out loud
So we could all see
The kind of dictator
That he intended to be

The lowest
Common denominator
For Donald Trump
Who’s an agitator
Doesn’t require
A calculator
To reveal him as
A woman hater

Now he’s attacked
Doctor Ford
Which has us all sayin,’
“Oh my Lord!”
How could he be
So untoward?
Maybe it’s just
That he’s bored

He thinks that
It’s all so unfair
What a man
Can’t do on a dare
To an unsuspecting
Lady fair
It’s a travesty
He does declare

What kind of country
Are we living in
Where a President
Can begin
To mock the real
Suffering
Of a victim
Of uncaring men

Send a cable
To the man at the head
Of the long table
Who was ready willing
And able
To launch an unprovoked war
He deserves
His madman label

Send him an
Urgent text
As he decides
What to do next
Under whatever
Pretext
Let him know that
His mission is hexxed

Send a letter
That perhaps might
Explain things better
To his inexplicable
Built-in forgetter
He’s a pariah
And an abettor
As well as an international debtor

Send him
A hand grenade
That could serve
To make him afraid
Because of the mess
That he’s made
Let him know that
A price must be paid

The match has now been lit
And the President’s talking ****
But that’s the government we get
When we elect a total misfit
As we look all around
Whole communities are burning down
Although it is unsound
The message is profound

How come you’re asking me,
Why is there so much anarchy?
When none of us are free
Judging by the things we see
Amidst the toil and strife
Another civilian loses his life
And that cuts deep like a knife
For his loved ones and his wife

Common-law, or not
That’s the woman that he’s got
Shedding tears along with snot
Because the situation got hot
For those who read their Bible
It isn’t even tribal
It’s becoming so archival
That it’s a matter of survival

It defies our intellect
Underneath the mere context
Of wondering who’ll be next
When a cop decides to check
And it results in unwarranted death
The mourners are the only ones left
To them it hurts just like a theft
Then all of us become bereft

The men and women
Who wear blue
Risk their lives
For me and you
With some exceptions
But here’s what’s true
Most do the job
They were hired to do

So if one goes down
In the line of duty
At the hands of some ****
Who shoots ‘em cruely
I can’t help but morn
I mean that truly
And I pray for their soul
So go ahead and sue me

The men and women
Who risk their lives
To serve and protect
That some despise
Deserve our respect
We should realize
What a tragedy it is
When one of ‘em dies

So for those who have
I say rest in peace
Cos one day I know
The violence will cease
Unfortunately now
It appears to increase
So I pray for those
We call the police

From the message that he’s sending
Lindsey Graham is not pretending
That there will be another ending
For the guy that he’s been friending
He’s pretty much resigned
Because he’s made up his mind
That no matter what they find
He’s going with the party’s line

And you already knew
That goes for Mitch McConnell too
Soas they skip to my loo
Give ‘em both a great big boo
They represent the worst
And their conclusions are rehearsed
See they will not be reversed
Even though they all are cursed

Dollars to donuts that he’ll run
Lindsey Graham’s a chameleon
Who changes colors with the sun
But hopefully he’ll be undone
He’s a bootlicker supreme
A tyrant in the making’s dream
whoAnd righteous though he may seem
He’s not on this country’s team

He’s clearly an enigma
Who is saddled with the stigma
Of having a heart that is maligna
In fact he’s the prime paradigma
I can think of no one better
To wear the President’s varsity sweater
With a big T as his letter
Like a sycophantic debtor

Beyond the Eisenhower context
We still have to guard against
The military industrial complex
Which requires in every respect
That our government be checked
As we’re forced to question, what is this?
It’s reminiscent of Guerin’s book
Fascism and Big Business

We can clearly see a certain confluence
So we must guard against
The acquisition of unwarranted influence
When surrounded by generals and billionaires
It can directly impact how the populous fares
Because these are un-chartered waters
And didn’t the Nazis claim to be
Just following orders

In Germany, then a democratic state
Neumann said that the ****’s sole ambition
Was to uproot what existed there
Until they could come into position
And we need not forget
As we look at the current cabinet
History frequently repeats itself
So we are to blame and no one else

When the great leader
is surrounded by acolytes
Who defend his positions
Whether wrong or right
It gives us many sleepless nights
And the media gets, a thousand sound bites
Comprised from their various talking points
Out of the mouths of those he anoints

He couldn’t resist,
The monkey reference
Racism you see, is
His personal preference
He wouldn’t congratulate
Out of due deference
His competition
Due to his irreverence

So what is his name?
You might well ask,
Ron DeSantis.
But don’t raise your glass
He’s already starting
To show his ***
And the voters of Florida
Might decide to pass

Even though hes' endorsed
By Donald Trump
Who’ll probably join him
On the campaign stump
Hoping it will give him
Some kind of bump
Though in fact it might place him
In a fatal slump

Now, Andrew Gillum,
The Democrat
Talks to the people
Where they are at
About real issues
While chewing the fat
And artfully avoiding
The brick-a-brat
