Never mistake the fake for real;
Hard truths, for lack of loving.
The genuine need no introduction,
And we reserve anger only for what we care about.

Never love without reason, many ills must be borne
Because of impatience or indifference.
Respect your heart to give it space;
The truth, for room for breathing.

Would  you swap all your poems
for those of  the finest poet in the land?
Never, because in your eyes
your work wins every prize
because they are you
Sits She waiting in a nest
of finest silk strung here to there
and in the garden
over by the waterlilies
sits the mate whose name she bare

Wed they in June
in Copper Corners by the bay
and children 3 had She and He
with names like Do and Re and Mi

Loved He her
and She loved He
idyllic life had they
came then Charlotte (sans her web)
and stole She's He away

From what I know
they're all there still
at least they were today
I had already posted this once when I first came to HP but I would like to post it again for the  Fairytale Challenge

Feeling lost

In a crowd

Of friendly faces

~
the crow calls
his mournful dirge
once twice thrice

early this morning
when the sky is  still
grey twilight
and his song of sadness
seeps in past the window frame,
to alight in my heart

today, you
would have been
fifty five...
and there was to be
a massive party
fifty five a glorious age
you said you were going
to retire.... see the world
but i could not see that
you who loved her job so....

but all of that,
immaterial now.
it is just past six months
since you died...
lung cancer...
metatasized to the brain
****** filthy cigarettes

i will raise a glass to you
my friend.....
probably more than one
some in joy and some in tears....

and the crow calls
again and again.....

Write me a letter
Sing me a song
Paint me a picture
Place me, I belong

Play me your music
Allow me this chance
Make me your pick
Incite me to dance

Save me my cry
Wipe me my tears
Try me, I'll try
Lend me your ears

Grant me your patience
Teach me my words
Say to me your sentence
Free us, we're birds

Build us a boat
See me a star
Rid me this moat
Have me where you are

Write us, we're poems
Turn us into song
Paint us as totems
Love us, we belong
Said the sea to the shore “you don’t love me anymore
All the good times seem like long forgotten chores
While sunshine ***** my waters making rain
I’ll visit other shores where I have lain
Make trees and grass and flowers grow again
Make harmony with clouds the sky I lend
Yet your sandy walk I will forever tend
Though you forget it’s time itself I bend”

Said the shore to the sea “you truly take me wrong
We will touch throughout eternity in song
Though moonlight is the mate for which I long
We’ll touch your tides like members of your tong
Make swirling currents beautiful and strong
For time is but the mask where we belong”

Said the sea to the shore “take comfort in my lust
For I turn even iron and steel to rust
Like the oceans of night’s sky I will remain
To touch your soul with yet a new refrain
That we may yet be lovers once again”
