To my past self
I put you on a shelf
Ignored all you thought and said
All of the feelings in my head
Becoming who others wanted
I never confronted
Who I ever wanted to be
Adventure as far as the eye can see
I can hear it
With a wild spirit
The past still haunts
All of the things my heart wants

A siren she calls me
To her I must flee
The song she sings
Such joy in me it brings
Hearing her lonely call
Standing amongst the trees she is tall
Lonely deep in her heart
I know we must never part
Cold down to the core
Until her, my heart never tore
To her I must flee
A siren she calls me
The Mountain.

When I look into your eyes
I feel like you will be my demise
To make me feel full
But away from me you pull

When you gaze down on me
I wonder what we will be
Through the tough times
And the joyful times

I fell in love with you
To my heart I must be true
Will you ever feel the same
If you don't you're not to blame

Will I ever make you happy
Not meaning to be sappy
I need to see the smile on your face
To find your saving grace

I know the love
That you are capable of
But do you?
To my heart I must be true

The thought of too many feelings
Overwhelmed with thoughts
The pressure of people
Feeling like you have failed
Unsure of what to do
Being an inspiration
What if that wasn't the intention?
Living life day by day
Unsure of the outcome
Which is part of the plan
The excitement and uncertainty
That's what life is about
Not the predictable daily tasks
But the unknown and unseen
The adrenaline rush
My heart quickens when I look
To the unknown and the vastness
Who knows what life may hold
But I am going to find out

As I lay dying
Every second I get older
Closer to the end
I think of every moment
Things that stick out in my memory
Happiness
Sadness
Pain
Loss
I wouldn't change a minute of my life
Moments that cause the most emotion
Are the ones worth keeping

With eyes of stories untold
And a heart of gold
That may light up the sky
To the heavens up high
Upon the face a glistening smile
With effects that will last for awhile

But one small tear
And a face full of drear
Can cast a cloud
That can be see all around
Bringing sadness to the land
Leaving life very bland

While you're so far away
These words I want to say
Please don't forget me
While you're sailing the sea
You cross through my mind
With you I hope to find
Happiness
Until I lay down to rest
