When we first met
It’s like the sun had
Risen and it wouldn’t set
We were awake in mad
Feeling for each other
And all day and night
We would smother
Each other with light
Kisses and a myriad pecks
On cheeks despite living
In the sticks
Nevertheless we weren’t a trifling
Couple, we were the whole world
In each other’s eyes, and that’s joyfully sad.
Now,well...maybe we get too much under each other's skins

Escape

I want to run
till there's no more road

I want to fly
till there's no more sky

I want to sail
till there's no more sea

I want to write
till my ink runs dry
Midnight cravings.

I can't shake the ache
to have you near me again.

Take me to a private place
where we can practice passion
without fear.

Let's take off our clothes in the wilderness.
I'll kiss you,
and I'll keep kissing you until you open for me
the way a morning glory opens for a sunbeam.
I will gaze upon the beauty of your bare soul,
and you will feel the love I have for you shine on you from all angles.

I will always want you this way,
don't ever forget that.

Touch me,
tell me softly through your teeth that you want it rough,
and writhe with me in the dark
until you find your release.
Just know that when the sun really does come up,
I must leave.

betterdays
into the gloaming
you dance, with small
uncertain steps

the music dims
heard mostly
inside your mind

the swing band plays
as you sway
between uncertainty
and the nineteen fifties

when you danced all night
in patent leather pumps
with stockings saved for
the occassion

glowing with youth
and the energy that
falling love brings

now these memories
burn bright as your
life light dims
and your dance partner
the kind young nurse

as down the hall
in the mood
plays on some ones
radio

Cacophony

Kiss me asleep
with your obsidian lips.

Protect my ears
from the cacophony nights would bring.

Fill the void
between heartbeats that skip.

Take me into the lull,
and into the siren song that you sing.
