What is that there, that you have?
A love that was forgotten.
Scribbled down was a note of passion.
A picture laid down next to it, crumbled up.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

What is that feeling of hatred?
That's mixed with sadness.
A tragic love story that was rebirth from the ashes.
It quickly tumbled down, to an unknown place.
A place to be forgotten, a place with simple grace.

What is left, but for simple forgiveness?
Shout it out, at the top of your lungs.
What has been said and what has been done.
Catch your breath for the fallen ones.
Leave your mark on the forgotten ones.

Your bold green eyes with flakes of gold keep me hypnotized.
I can't do anything without worrying that one day your eyes will turn cold.
I cling to every word you say as if any of them will be the last ones I hear.
You've kept me like this for months now - I admire you, I do, but please.
Let me go.

I'm dangling by a thread over the life I had before I laid eyes on your freckled face.
Just let me go I plead, I can't keep doing this.
You give me that big smile showing your bright white teeth.
My heart melts at the sight and sinks because I know I will always be under your spell.

Cynical people say life is not fair.
I think that life is too fair.
You eat an onion and the cell walls break down and you taste the flavor, delicious and ripe
and then your breath stinks like an onion.
You find yourself at a lonely 30 without a wife
and then you find a woman too complex to fall in love until she found a mature soul.
You feel the pangs of heartbreak, and you realize you were a ******* that needed to stink boldly enough to change your ways.
There is no winning in life.
You pay the toll and you drive the road that you paid the toll for.
So feel the sadness and know that you’re paying your toll.
And then rejoice in the happiness,
the road you get to travel.
