the skies.
shan Mar 2018
i have lived under black skies, the atmosphere choking me with every star in the sky that should've burned bright but instead became dull. i have lived under black skies that were empty, as if it were a canvas lacking inspiration. i have lived under black skies and nothing was okay.

i have lived under grey skies. i have lived under grey skies where everything was frozen and good or bad had no balance. i have lived under grey skies that defied change, defied time, defied emotion. i have lived under grey skies that enveloped me in neutrality or, a better term, numbness. i have survived under grey skies, not truly lived, because i didn't care at all.

i would like to live under blue skies. blue skies that reflect in the color of my eyes, that makes every other sound comparable to music. i would like to live under blue skies that create a calming sea rather than a raging storm in my heart, blue skies that replace the red warning sirens in my mind. i would like to live under blue skies.

the skies are not blue.
ahhh this is something i just kinda came up with in a moment of sadness. i really liked it, though, and i hope you guys do too.

misery
shan Feb 2018
they like the taste of misery.
they will find someone,
someone who does not
want to wake up in the
morning, someone who can’t
smile and they will stay.
they will love them and
keep treating them like
they’re everything to
them. then this someone
will become happier
and they will smile
until there is no misery left.
then, they are left alone.
they are abandoned.
the person had come along
and cured the sadness long
enough to take it away
just for a little while.
they like the taste of misery.
-i liked the taste of you.
this is a ****** little poem that i wrote really early in the morning a few years ago but i figured it'd be a great first poem to put on here!
