George Anthony
she sits propped up against the wall,
sleek curves and long necked
elegant and beautiful,
and she's my first love,
and I'll love her 'til I die
of this I'm certain,
because she's the sparkle in my eye
I cradle her in my arms,
let my fingers coax her sounds
music to my ears, love songs
and nostalgia of the years
she's my first love,
and I'll love her 'til I die
of this I'm certain
because she's the sparkle in my eye
I cradle her in my arms,
and I've never loved another more
I'll always hold her close to me,
my angel, my guitar

The entire room is staring, I feel my hair standing
All eyes on me, smiling is all I see
The chanting begins and I hear them but I’m not listening
My mind is focused on one thing
Blowing out my candles after they sing
What am I going to wish for this time?
Shall I wish that my other wishes come true?
Or do I wish something completely out of the blue?
All these thoughts bouncing around in my mind
However, I’m running out of time
They’re done singing, so here it goes
Blow
And like that another birthday
In the smoke

You Are

You're my sunlight in my darkness
The rainbow in my rain
The snow on distant mountains
We'll go walking there again

You're the apple in my apple pie.
You're the raisins in my scone.
When I'm with you it seems to me
that one and one is one

The second verse was a bit of a poem i put in a card to my wife over 30 years ago, and she still married m! . Sadly I've forgotten the rest , probably for the best, so i added the first verse recently.

Let the shadow of my passing
cast no darkness on the day
For we live each moment
Only once
And then move blithely
on our way.
