Open your eyes,
look into mine,
If you see lies,
Will it be fine?
Let's play pretend,
Darling of mine,
Or will it depend?
Whether you break or bend?
Will I have one more chance?
And take your hand,
Will all be forgiven?
Or forever hold a grudge,
Take the chance I'm given,
And reach for one last touch.

He went nine years without doing
it. Five of those
were spent in prison so it
was just normal
but the other four he spent
desperately trying and failing

He did look fine before
he got into ******* drugs
and crime

Well, there was this
cute drug dealer
down the block
from whom he kept buying
only to get to see
her and try to strike up a
conversation

He didn't care that
she was pregnant
He called up almost daily to
meet up and
buy but he wasn't too
good at
conversation. Had no game,
as others would put it

And on the other side
she wasn't so
good at putting the products
together
She constantly laced the **** with
some other ****
and one such **** was so
bad that
when he smoked it
he got all ***** and creative
and desperate

He grabbed a black
permanent marker and
drew a **** across his
left forearm

It wasn't good enough so he
cut it open with
a razor and began to
lick at it and finger it
around the bone
and eventually **** it until
he came

He came about four, five
times until
he passed out

I don't wish the power to be in hands of a woman
I don't wish the power to be in hands of a man
The world will be a better place...
only when millions of beings will be seen as one.

This is what the the feminist said.
"If you stand for equality, then you are a feminist.
Sorry to tell you."
                                    -Emma Watson
Usually we are mistaken between a feminist and a misandrist.
A feminist is a person (not a woman...it can be a woman as well as man)
who believes in equal rights of men and women. But in our society feminists are considered to be misanderists i.e a woman who hates men. We cannot forget that during the first feminist movement in 1848 in Seneca Falls, New York, 3oo men supported feminism in this movement. So let's not hate anyone and make this world a better place.

(me and my shadow)

<o>  <o>

The evening air was cool
that rainless night in June
on the street, i looked around
my backward steps were measured
i needed a right spot,
i needed a good shot
for, up there, a creamy full moon
hung above the neighbor's roof...

the pavement was moonglowed
whence stood me and my shadow,
no noise, not even a soft wind's blow
as if God had stilled the world,
a finger on His lips, to stop all sounds
and movements...to call my attention,
...........to waken my perception...

then, i heard a hurried crash in the dark,
i thought, perhaps, a bat made its mark
in my mind, and up my spine, fear sparked
a cold wind swayed the branches
followed by thumps on the ground, a crunch
of footsteps, confirmed all my hunches,

God, both my feet refused to cooperate,
'til i felt something in my pocket vibrate

thank God for my phone, it shook my limbs,
until.....fear no longer kept my mind dim

i whisked...away from the pavement,
enough of these moonglowed moments!

how stars suspended between the lines faded into gray
Then, I remember just how prosaic life has become
pre-pandemic life seems to be a reverie

no words...

my love for you
the deep emotions
that fly around my heart
lifting me up
lighter than air
defy words
I have searched
reached out
tried to pull
those feelings
onto the page
but they fall
into flat air
the words
to fully express
my love for you
how much you mean
to me
how this love
runs deeper
than the Clutha river
is bigger
than Betelgeuse
how it
burns brighter
than the Sun
is clearer than
the waters of
lake Rotomairewhenua

simply
do not exist.

Lake Rotomairewhenua (pronounced "rawtaw-myray-fenooa" aka The Blue Lake, is the clearest lake in the world, and is in our beautiful Sth Island, in the Nelson district, here in New Zealand...the Clutha, is a deep river, also in the Sth Island...

this poets soul
is sowing seeds
for loved ones lost
for unseen deeds
in the quiet times
dappled with sighs
dusted in pale light
are pre dawn skies
Mr Tui sings
he spreads wide
his wings
in upward flight
to the Puriri tree
I think of you
I dream you are free
toes mulled
in a turning tide
undertow pulled
the tears we cried
for you
I glimpse your eyes
crystalline blue
so briefly seen
caught in sea foam
sands washed
renewed pristine
I let go like the sun
& long for home

I.
I've bled
Till my veins run dry
My bones
Are shattered and broken
Withering

II.
The ink
From my pen drags,
Then pools and
Blots the page
As I let it
Fall

III.
All my energy
Siphoned from memories,
Has now diminished
I take my last breath
As  I allow
My small boat
To be pitched across
By the winds and waves

~Fin.
I watched the sky transform from a glittery black cloak
Into cotton candy blues and pinks.

The sun rose slowly but sure of itself
All the while spreading warmth and light.

Trees went from lumbering, dark monsters
To tall, vibrant green friends.

Flowers popped with color
And swayed in the wind.

All the while I watched this I thought of you
And how much I wish you were here right now to experience it with me.
