Sleepwalking
 Apr 2016 TW
--
You held me there,
beneath your thick-skinned, heavy-hand
wrapped tightly round the frames
of my feeble heart strings.

You pushed all your fears
of my absence
into a weight I placed
deep beneath my ribcage.

Hollow and heavy,
I begged to be
the lucky one.

Recollected and spoon fed,
it took me a moment,
to see that the hand I clung to
so desperately,
was the same
that gave my demons all their energy.

And I suppose I was hypnotized,
by the way you could kiss doubt
into the back of my neck,
and call it something else.

But one day I fell asleep,
all alone
and woke to see
somewhere in my sleepwalk,
I had crawled out from underneath.
Just to find you,

far away

but still,
looking back at me.

If I were another man
I would hold you close
If I were another man
I would let you hold me closer
If I were another man
I would bring you flowers
If I were another man
I would read you poetry until you fell asleep
If I were another man
I would carry you over the ocean of your sorrows
If I were another man
I would honour you just as you are
If I were another man
I would be the man I want to be
If I were another man
I would be the man I ought to be

I am a Spirit's messenger
through their eye's I show you visions
so you may see hope on a darkened road
of a future up to us to change and hold

I share with you a place of peace and unity
and carry with me their voices
on the winds of four directions

Their strength and wisdom flow through me
so that I may open eye's to understand
the truth in which they give me to see

Together as one we all share this land
and we must all as one stand
side by side hand in hand
to bring balance and harmony
before all is lost in a sickened world forever

It's funny how most people my age
just want to go out and socialize
while the best times of my life
are the ones I spent (and spend) alone in my bed
with melancholic music and closed eyes

she'd learnt to keep a shallow mind
so people didn't have to swim
and it led them all to think they knew
the thoughts she held within
but below the wading pool she made
was a world left unexplored
an ocean of her feelings
hidden under the pools floor
the waters turned to blackness
where not even she had dared to go
stretching from behind her eyes
to the ends of all her toes
she didn't want to dive right down
and find what lay hidden there
because she knew with all deep water
came a deadly lack of air
but she didn't foresee the lonely boy
who found a crack in her cement
broke free of her wading pool
and into the darkness he went
he told her not to fear her thoughts
as he took her by the hand
and swam with her to places
that their lungs could not withstand
in their newfound love they both forgot
the importance of their breath
and interwoven in the world they found
they both drowned in its depths
Cameron's a Klingon.

Star trek or Shrek
it's all make believe.

You wanna believe it?
okay,
makes your day
I make my play and
vote with my coat on
I'm gone.

Silence

Sweet sound of bitter silence.
My breath echos with every exhalation.
I can almost hear the course of my blood as it flows through my veins.
Silence.
No more tormenting voices.
No more pandemonium around.
Just my blissful ignorance and I.
Wasting away in this bitter beautiful silence.
A silence so pure , I could die in it's arms
