i'm drowning
in a sea of people
and i wonder
if you see me

You and I persist
Our love exists regardless
Of where the wind blows

Because on that day,
the day that the sun shined bright and the waves rolled strong,
Your consummate hazel eyes glistening,
allured me to you.
Your ash-blonde hair, flowing in the wind.
Perhaps if i was able to resist you, my world would be in one piece right now.
But I couldn't.
Perhaps if i hadn't brushed the sand off my body, and joined your stupid volleyball game,
I wouldn't be writing this.
Because your love was one that consumed me.
It absorbed the life out of my soul,
depleted my happiness.
I still remember the smell of cigarettes and cologne,
and
the place where I pictured my life with you.
Where do you go when your whole heart relinquishes from your body?
When the person you thought you would spend your life with,
gets on a plane, and flies across the country, forever.
2,299 miles away.
Maybe this is how it was supposed to be,
who really knows anyway?
It still hurts the same.

The artist paints yellow, pink, and red
roses on her canvas,
glints of blue at the edges
dripping and spilling.
Something for spring, she says.
She gently smiles,
her hand rubbing
the swelling curve
of her belly,
just a black shirt and ragged blue jeans
covering another kind of canvas.
Underneath
something else entirely
waits to bloom.

and YOU watched

me as i looked

so small

standing

under

the twinkling night

sky

catching shooting

stars on my

toungue,

wishing

that this

night

would

go on

forever

like the endless diamond

sky

that YOU

kissed

me under,

the moonlight

casting a faint

glow

on YOUR breathtaking

face

as YOU

promised

to love me

forever,

the same

moonlight

illuminating

a trail of

tears

sliding

down my

cheeks

as YOU

break

that promise,

break

my heart.

YOU

told me

YOU

would give me

a star

to wear

on my left

finger,

and that

i had a

smile brighter

and more beautiful

than

saturn's rings,

and now i

watch

YOU walk away,

leaving me

alone

under

our moon.

YOU told me

i was YOUR

everything,

and now

i am

merely

another star

in YOUR

ever expanding

galaxy.
