Mountains hold amongst themselves,
in each of their valleys,
shared between their neighbors,
an air of majesty.

Sit upon the peaks, peering into unknown forest
as the wind buffs your face clean of all obligations;
carpeting your thighs with a buttery smooth gentleness
that caresses your mind into relaxation.

Regal pines strike back against
the enormous pressure at sea level,
raising up to thin the air
and to thin your worry.

Here you are lost
in the grandeur of something greater
than yourself,
but never greater than it really is.

In the valleys shared between mountains,
on the windy peaks,
the mountains swallow you up,
absorb you.

And share with you, too
that majesty.

Razors can't make me bleed
like you can.

I've tried.

Bent
Broken
Bruised
Of all the words to describe me,
Beaten is not among them.

Catharsis makes me feel good again.
Catharsis means I need to feel bad.

What a *****.

Bubbly hell
makes me tired every time I drink.
Rips apart my joints with sugary satisfaction.
Still I am invigorated with your flavor,
and want to chase you through
lemon tree orchards
that will only ever make me more thirsty
and want to drink of
my lemon lyme disease.
Even though my dog has Lyme disease all he wants to do is run around. Afterwards he is always in pain and requires more painkillers than I ever have. He has a youth I wish to carry  with me for the rest of my life.

I was going to write a poem
telling how beautiful you are.
but it would be an injustice to the world's self-esteem
to immortalize such concepts.

He always told me
I "did okay."
He stood by the track to cheer me on
as I watched everybody finish
He always told me
Wherever I went I'd "do just fine."

No matter how many times I fell short,
how many times I failed
No matter how lost I became,

My father always loved his son,
how hard that must have been for him.
