Candle light
Why can’t you shine
A match was hard to find
Maybe try and bind

Where’s your spark ?
Did you have to fall apart
I search within your heart
Only to find mold left to rot

Candle height
No need to fright
I promise it won’t bite
You just have to hold on tight

Are you sure you saw a beam ?
For me, it just seems
You are chasing a lost dream
Where you climb with no limbs

Candle night
I can’t do it, I might
Lose my own fight
Will I ever ignite ?
sometimes burnout feels as if it stays forever

𝒟ℯ𝒻𝒾𝓃𝒾𝓉𝒾ℴ𝓃 ℴ𝒻 ~ Euphoric

"Euphoric" describes a feeling of intense happiness, pleasure, and well-being, often accompanying activities like exercise, music, or laughter. The term can also refer to "euphoric recall," where someone's memory of a past substance use experience is strongly positive, leading to a longing for more.

Curtains open,
an autumn morning’s light
tumbles into the room.

Overnight, a stray leaf,
muddy-skinned with skinny veins
has somehow slapped

itself against the window.
The downpour, slept through,
but heard fragments,

the wind’s remonstrations,
beads of rain as though sorting
through buttons.

And there, on the glass, a soggy
brown symbol. Silent call for help,
a new place to make home.

Explanation: A poem written in my own time. A link to my Facebook writing page can be found on my HP home page.
If John the Baptist
were alive today
he would be wearing
second hand clothes
with holes in them .
He would be living
on the streets
with cardboard
for shelter

He would be
eating out of garbage cans
but he would never
need to beg

He would be
on every street corner
telling us we must
repent and to prepare
for one coming
that would be greater
than him

And no one
would be listening
to a homeless
man on the street
The Romans taxed by auctioning off the right to collect taxes to the highest bidder . Then the tax collector  would tax enough to cover his cost and
make a profit .

These were the toll-takers , custom-takers for the Romans , and most of them were greedy grifters . They were hated by the people . They were called Publicans because they took up publica , the goods of the Empire .

Publicans are still here today collecting taxes but they like to be called by their new name , Republicans .

Evil is born with little effort.
Goodness?
Through the struggle from within.

Evil eats from the inside out.
It tears at its own flesh, consumes 'self'.
Goodness?

It must be nurtured on the decomposed
Death of the evil growth within
Like some parasitic twin.

Goodness can win, must win.

I’ll never be alright
not completely
No matter how they might treat me
It lays still in my blood
creeping
Dormant for years
