J.R.R. Tolkien
All that is gold does not glitter,

Not all those who wander are lost;

The old that is strong does not wither,

Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,

A light from the shadows shall spring;

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,

The crownless again shall be king.

On loving you,
I write down a lot of things
Most of them meaningless
scribbled on napkins or in the backs of notebooks,
Sometimes I look back on them
reimagine the moments captured,
This has left me with a timeline of us,
The first day we held a conversation,
Me, drunk out of my boots
Fumbling with words I do not remember,
You, kind eyed and laughing
Only knew patience

Hearing you
Say her
name was
like taking
down
a shot of
Whiskey

Until I
remembered
that you
weren't really
ever my
Cup of tea
You're a breath of fresh air in a world of smokestack trees.
