Lucy kissed a jawbone
bye beneath a diamond sky

2.8 million years
and a gazillion tears ago

That's a lot of sorrow

for a man
kinda like me.

Lady in a gray dress
calling this a wintry mix

A coastal low with rain and sleet

I reckon so, but it sure seems
like the winter blues to me.

iii.

it doesn't matter
how i wear my body
anymore.
if i can't give you
a pleasant sight,
i can also eat
your eyes out for you.
Is licking eyeballs still a trend?
Marigolds twinkle in July's ******* ,
Turquoise butterflies , picture postcard weather ...
Morning dew cools latent heat , hitchhikers
gather on wet blue jeans ...

Agrarian summertime dreams , days of Strawberry
wine , brilliant stars that whispered cool nights ...
Muscadine harvest , fireworks at horizons edge , Roman candles and rocket lights whistled low piedmont refrains ...

The honeybee attempting to overwinter by the window sill ,
the same one that sparked the growth and fruition
of our Summer Squash hills ....
Filled our trellis with delicious cucurbits and Roma tomatoes ,
brought life giving pollens to our Pattypans , Crooknecks
Butternuts and Acorns ..

Id stare
into the sun
If it had
your eyes
I fell asleep
With you,
Chest to chest, our hearts beat too,
Together,
And I dreamed,
Of splendidly things, and fairy tale lands, and kingdoms and kings, of a moon and a star, and of here and afar, and in all of these places (whatever the weather)
I hummed to the tune,
that our hearts beat together

Raven
Sunday morning
all is peaceful and quiet
I was drinking coffee
while skimming the morning paper
Listening to the cars
roar in the distance
You came out of the bedroom
yawning, stretching
looking cute with your bed hair
Eyes squinting
Adjusting to the sunlight
You made your way to the kitchen
poured yourself a cup of coffee
and took a seat across from me
We just stared
Studying each other
Not a single word uttered
We sat still in silence
a comfortable one
Few minutes passed
You looked a way
licked your lips then smirked
Often
I daydream about
doing a lot of things to you
I wonder
Are you thinking
the same way I do?
