There was an army of ants in the plastic plants
So I poured light through a magnifying glass
And I created a fire on the artificial grass

They scurried and hurried
with flames on their backs
Like soldiers on a hopeless plain,
searching for invisible barracks

And I sighed as they died,
because we are all the same:
Scurrying and hurrying from invisible pain

haunting grey outside,
forced to reminisce.
some believe we should just be.
no mind,
no chemistry,
friends in need.
I was born complete
but now fractured and
blown with Autumn's leaves.
running in place
no direction,
just haste,
faking my way.
the membrane
between me and the pain
is thinning away.

Floating in air,
Surrounded
By flocks of geese,
Giving me an awkward stare,
I glide between the clouds
Vapour mixed with crystalline tears,
I could stay here forever
Gliding,
Quite,
Thoughts,
So clear up here,
But I am still a prisoner
Gravity pulls me down,
Cant be felt but always there
Miles,
Meters,
Feet,
Coming up fast
I pull my cord
My wings of silk expand
Save me,
From what would have awaited
I sail gently to the earth
The rush of the
Heavens,
to
Earth,
The rush of freedom
Falling through open air.

They still loved but
Walked apart
There shadows were
Still fixed from the moment
They first shared the
Clasp of hands uniting love,
They were still the couple
Of yesterday
Dreams,
Love,
Trust,
They didn't show the cracks
i~n~b~e~t~w~e~e~n
The two lovers,
Hands grazed the others
For a moment shadows
Shone brighter it seems,
Behind they looked
And there shadows were
United hands held,
Was this a sign of what love meant
They held each other,
Love,
Smiles,
Connection,
Then the
Kiss,
Where they had drifted apart
And hands one again united
As they glimpsed there shadows
Kissing
A trick of the light,
But they were just showing what
Love feels like in the shadows
Which everyone sees

Introvert, extrovert, people of every kind
The toughest battles we face take place within the mind
So take what you need to try and unwind
You're not the only one who's feeling behind
We all suffer the same so remember to be kind
You never know what other troubles people find
Without the needless actions and speaking of others with malign
If you've ever done this leave those habits behind
So that we can all focus on alleviating our own internal grind

Hair

there was a man
with hair on his face
it grew and grew
all over the place

there was no place
it did not grow
a face so hairy
only his eyes did show

his big thick beard
was almost black
but red and blonde hairs
he did not lack

over his lips and ears
it did so drape
so he took his scissors
and began to shape

he took his time
he snipped with care
but in the end
he cut too much hair

his hair lay in a clump
within his hands he did cup
and thought to himself
well i ****** this all up

looking in the mirror
he really felt sad
thinking back 5 minutes
to the beard he just had

all and all
this really did blow
but it will be back
in a few weeks or so

Mama, don't cry
The house is still standing.
The wind might be blowing hard,
But the windows are still holding on.
Everything's shaking
Nothing's secure
But
Mama, don't cry.
The house is still here.

Mama, don't cry
We still got time.
Dry those pretty eyes of yours
And crack that smile that I love.
Things might be moving fast,
But that doesn't mean nothing won't last.
I know it's hard
Cause the clock keeps ticking away.
But
Mama, don't cry.
We still got time.

Mama, don't cry
I swear we're never gonna leave.
We've been through too much
Seen too much
To have to say goodbye.
You've always been our life jacket
Our first aid kit
Our glue
To hold us up.
But the tide is changing,
And it's our turn to be
Your parachute
When you feel like jumping out of this life
We're living.
So
Mama, don't cry.

There's so much to look forward to.
Time might be erasing
What you've worked hard for so long
To keep.
But that doesn't mean that we can't rebuild on
What's been lost.
